Started with rice cereal but quickly moved on to sweet potato then string beans, carrots and butternut squash. We also gave her some pieces of avocado early on.

start with a veg or fruit puree :) and just have the mindset that it is a fun game of 'tasting' something new -- not actually eating. just licks and mouth smacks while sitting in a highchair or something like a bumbo on the floor. after a few weeks of fun tastes, LO will be ready for a more meal kinda schedule! :)

I started LO with a small meal of mixed breastmilk, organic brown rice ceral and sweet potato puree that was pretty runny but still held on a spoon well. It didn't matter how much she ate as it was just to try things out. We started with a dinnertime meal so that we could be the ones giving it to her.
I kept with a milk+cereal+veggie puree for a while. After a month or so I introduced pureed chicken and started doing multiple veg combos, like chicken+rice+green bean+carrot. Somewhere in that time I also introduced pureed fruits as a fun thing on weekend days, and gave her a frozen peach slice in a mesh feeder to play with and suck on. She was eating 2-4 ounces at dinner during this time.
Around 7.5 months we had daycare start doing 'lunch' and sent purees for her. Usually this was a fruit and grain blend. Things like applesauce+peach+oatmeal cereal+milk, or carrot+banana. She also started having puffs and yogurt melts occasionally. She ate another 2-4 ounces with this meal and about 4 ounces at dinner, sometimes more.
LO is now 9 months and she gets 3 'meals' a day though her 'breakfast' is still small. We introduced yogurt around 8 months and she now gets some kind of chunky food to feed herself with at dinner that is coated in a puree. Soft pasta pieces with puree carrot/veg blend or pieces of tofu with peach puree, pasta pieces with a small amount of tomato sauce.
Solids are fun! Intimidating but fun!

I started with sweet potato puree. Only about 2 tsp. in the morning. I did that for 2 days and then upped it to 2 TBS. Then we tried peaches. I just read LO's hunger signs. Since he did so well with those, I added a meal at "lunch" as well. By the end of the month, he was eating 3 meals of purees a day of however much he wanted. He lets me know when he is full. Don't be scared. We made it fun by taking a picture of his reaction to each new food, which was hilarious. He had some funny faces, but never really rejected anything.

I'm so scared of solids!!! I know that they'll be new and exciting, but I'm just scared to start!!!

What did you start with? How much? When did you add a second meal? If you could give me the details of your first month or two, that would be awesome... I need a guideline to just follow, haha
