Lots of carbs. Bagel or english muffin with cream cheese. Or do peanut butter. Cereal is great since you can get some protein from milk.

@2littlepumpkins: I hope yours is quickly receding! I feel like if I stick to the approximately 3 things that I tolerate, it's usually more or less ok, but depart from that a little bit and I'm gagging it up sooner or later. I am so not looking forward to this trip for work, mostly from the perspective of being able to manage food. And I just saw that one evening there's dinner (probably fish) on a boat. I mean, if I wasn't pregnant it would be a super enjoyable experience. But um, yeah, that can't help the nausea :silly:

@periwinklebee: I've been wanting bagels too! :silly: Hope you're doing ok this week. I think mine peaked at 10-10.5 weeks and fingers crossed will be going away soon. I still can't cook without gagging though. And with my first and second it peaked earlier so fingers crossed your trip will be ok!!

@azjax: oh, I'd totally forgotten about those. Definitely another good sour candy alternative.

@FaithFertility: I'm going to try this - toasted bagel with cream cheese is one of the very few things that's worked well - I have an international trip for work end of next week (ughhh) and have been worried about finding non-perishable things to bring along as snacks. PB could work if it goes down as well as cream cheese!

@periwinklebee: how could I forget...Jolly Ranchers!!!! They are tart/sour like preggie pops and a fraction of the cost. I also avail myself of them when I have that bike/nausea aftertaste in my mouth and they work to alleviate that.

oh also these lemon/orange/grapefruit italian hard candies (they sell them on amazon). popping one really helped quell nausea on the subway, at the office, etc etc. hang in there!

Oh I did a lot of smoothies for these terrible headaches I had. I could make one with whole milk yogurt and a blob of coconut oil with fruit and OJ and keep it down. You can't taste the oil so it was nice to get the extra fats that way. They had to be really thick - like eaten with a spoon - runny smoothies did not go well for me.

First pregnancy mint tea really settled my stomach and quenched heartburn and probiotic yogurt drinks kept me feeling well when food was not appealing.

This pregnancy, mint hasn't helped and I've moved on to sour (lemon, citrus, etc) and spicy (ginger, etc). At my worst, it's Cheerios with 2% milk because it's not that bad coming back up and there are some nutrients.

With my first it was chocolate milk. I could stomach more things if I drank chocolate milk first (I gained a bit of weight!)
This pregnancy I could eat cereal most days. And carrots. But it was rougher than my first. The only thing that helped was the 2nd trimester :)

I always found the most random foods that could keep down. Sometimes they didn't seem appetizing in my head but I would give it a shot anyways (I had HG with my first so I was SO desperate for every calorie). Some of my strange hits: Popcorn twists, pineapple, Triscuits, turkey bites, McDonalds sausage and eggers (after my night shifts especially), with this pregnancy I do best if I drink a small amount of orange juice before meals (so weird and I have no idea why it helps). I went through a takeout burrito phase with one pregnancy as well. In general cooking is a no no for me when I have morning sickness.

For my first I literally ate a sausage mcmuffin pretty much every morning. For lunch I always wanted burger and fries (crinkle cut) or chicken katsu (breaded fried chicken cutlet) with plain white rice. Basically I lived on carbs paired with some protein that was bathed in fat or fried. That was the only way I could keep from throwing up. Couldn't be lean protein alone and it couldn't just be a carb. And I don't think I ate veggies ever.

Right now you are in survival mode! Eat whatever sounds good and don't sweat it. Be sure to take a prenatal vitamin, any brand you can stomach.

Honestly, the only thing that helped me was exercise. I forced myself to do some light cardio (like 20 min walking) at least every day. on days I could do elliptical or something higher intensity, I did it. If I skipped a day, I felt so sick! Good luck!

Both pregnancies I depended heavily on bagels & cream cheese for breakfast. On bad days I might even have one in the evening as well. Bringing a Babybel cheese or two to work or the Nature Valley 'sweet & salty' peanut bars helped ward off nausea during the work day or while out.

It's always different, and the foods I crave aren't necessarily the ones that keep away the nausea after. Carbs seem to work but like other(s?) have said I can't cook without constantly gagging. Even just warming up food and cutting it up for my LOs is difficult. 10.5 weeks and counting!!

I exist solely on carbs during the first trimester. I looked for grains or starchy foods that had protein added...so I'd eat 22 whole grain bread for my toast (Killer Dave's is such good bread!), or cooked quinoa for breakfast or dinner bowls, or Kodiak flap jack mix (because pancakes are always the answer!). Luckily this time baby seems to like salad, so instead of meat (ugh, baby does not want animal protein!) I'll add chickpeas or black or kidney beans to my salads. Quinoa in salads worked too.

It does get better. I had horrible MS from 6 weeks until 16 weeks (so, um, 2 days ago!) but I can stomach a lot more now. It's finally getting to the point where I can think about food in general without gagging!

ugh, not healthy at all but I've been making and eating bisquick pancakes for dinner. lunch is typically avocado toast or something.. maybe with feta on top if I can stomach it.
Breakfast is eggs. Its the only thing that doesn't get my MS going early.
