It reminds me of Christmas time in the Philippines. My grandapa used to always buy a leg of Serrano ham and balls of Edam cheese during the holidays. We also used to grow perilla leaves in our backyard growing up, and marinate or pickle them to make tons of ggaennip. They have a strong scent/flavor, so it's a big part of my childhood.
