I have taken the kids to free story and craft hour at Barnes and Noble. They have them every Saturday at my BN. Also, Lakeshore Learning does a craft hour every Saturday as well (not sure if this store is in NY) and we have gone to that. However, I do tend to buy something in the store while I'm there, so I guess they aren't exactly "free"...

@MamaMoose: I was going to suggest something similar. My parents partnered with two families and did swim lessons for three boys. They actually called in "swim club" and bought them matching swim suits.

LO is still too young for this... But here's an idea for you. When I was little my mom and a few of her friends did a little "science club" for their kids. I think there were four of us? Every Saturday all the kids would go to one mom's house and do some sort of learning/science project. The moms dropped us off so it was kind of genius because in exchange for hosting one crazy Saturday a month the moms got three Saturdays where they had a few hours to themselves. The kids had tons of fun and learned something!

Besides going to the playgroun, park or library... what free structured activities do you do with your LO?

I'd like to start taking the kids to story time at the library... right now, we just go to the library and read to them for a bit (free but unstructured).

Most of the structured activities that we do require money though: music class is $5 a session, soccer or swimming costs money, etc. It all adds up and I'd love to find free equivalents!
