I have 2 ghd straighteners- one slimline (maybe 8 years old) and one wide plate which is about 5 years old. I use the slimline when I have short hair, or around the hairline/fringe, and the wide plate when my hair is longer.

I remember back in the day (1998!) when straighteners first became all the rage.... my girlfriend had a GAMMA metal plate straightener that we blew up from too much usage

I use a GHD. Well worth the money, I've had it since 2007.

@Rocker2014: That's what I'd been using until the plates fell off. I really liked it, I should get another.

I have a Sedu and I love it. I'm only on my second one in 10 years. My first lasted 7 years before finally dying (and I straighten my hair almost daily).

@JessKas: my BaByliss pro lasted for 6 years!! It was much better than the CHI (which I had to replace every year).

I used CHI for years but was never super impressed. Once the technology of flat irons improved - conair infinity has worked just as well. And I have insanely curly hair.

I want the GHD but I can't justify the $$

I have this one from Sephora that I've been using for 10+ years. I don't straighten my hair anymore (6 months) as I got waves that I like post pregnancy. But I still do use it to style my bangs, daily.

I didn't know about ghd when I bought this. I've heard raves about ghd. I do like that this one has an adjustable temperature.

I liked the chi but what I didn't like is that you can't adjust the temperature. If you have finer hair that can be damaging for your hair.

I have the Remington frizz therapy from ultra, it was about $50, and I love it just as much as many of the more expensive ones I've tried

I've used a Chi, which is good, and a ghd, which was really great. But, I actually use this HSI daily, which is much cheaper and works the best of all of them on my hair (frizzy wavy). I love it, it's amazing!

I've heard great things about PYT (Pretty Young Things) brand and Chi.

I just saw a PYT set on a local swap page for $60, brand new. They're $115 on Amazon, and $400 on thei website.

What do you use? Have you tried a PYT?
