The moment I saw spotting I felt horrible. This feeling in my stomach I will never forget. Somehow I just knew. You try to stay positive and hopeful but that only can take you so far. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it again. I was about to be 8 weeks and my close fam and friends and I couldnt be any happier. Its so crazy how you can be so happy one day to have that totally turn around the next day. I miscarried naturally. My experience was sharp cramps and spotting that got heavier as each day passed. It was a total of 2 weeks for me. For my loss at 6w2d, I woke up with cramps &amp; bled like AF (which isn't usually all that heavy). TMI warning-- that night I got diarrhea &amp; while wiping saw some greyish tissue with small blood clots in it. I was stunned b/c while I was pretty sure that what was happening, I had no idea what to expect to see. At only 6w I don't think I expected anything identifiable, but I'm guessing that was my tiny little placenta. I thought about saving it, but DH &amp; I were traveling (on our 1st anniversary :( ) and I didn't want TSA to question me if they found it. I felt awful just flushing it. The cramps &amp; bleeding continued for 1 more day, but then tapered off in another day or 2. I couldn't get in to see OB do got an exam &amp; US at v the ER. They couldn't identify a sac (of course). I tested hCG this last Mon (1 wk later) &amp; was already down to 9, so for me it looks like all happened &amp; is resolving quickly. I should have taken Advil or something, but I was in denial and didn't want to take anything a pregnant person shouldn't take. Stupid in hindsight. [Warning - a little graphic]. I passed a lot of unrecognizable but different looking stuff that I think was the beginning of a placenta/umbilical cord. I did actually pass something that looked like an embryo (very small, maybe 1-2 cm) in a bubble. It was so small that no features except for a dot were really apparent. Surprisingly, I found it really fascinating. It didn't freak me out as I had feared. Sorry if this is TMI, but initially I saved it in a jar in case my doctor wanted to run any tests. She didn't mention it, so my husband and I buried it. Sorry if that was too graphic. I would think already having had a baby would make your experience less physically painful? Hopefully? If not, I'd recommend taking pain meds. Also, ask your doctor, but mine allowed me to switch from pads to tampons after a few days. Take some time to grieve. You deserve it. When I miscarried naturally at 8 weeks, I started with some light bleeding on Thurs evening. Everything finally passed On Monday evening. I had some strong period-like cramps and some clotting/tissue that passed. There was nothing scary looking. By Tues morning, all cramps were gone, and I was back to light spotting.
