I emailed and they replied with a congrats and a questionnaire to fill out, then had me call in to book an appointment/ultrasound/bloodwork. I think they also said they prefer it to be between 7-10 weeks. It's a long first visit where they do a ton of stuff on the same day.

@emg86: I called the OB today and the secretary wouldn't get me in for an early ultrasound even though I told her my last period was in November, I wasn't certain of conception, etc. My first appointment is scheduled for 8 weeks. I miss my RE!!

She at least let me leave a message for the nurse line about blood work. A nurse called me back and said that, based on my history, I didn't really need the blood work but they'd write the prescription for me anyway. Ha.

First time they scheduled an intake appointment for 8 weeks. It was meant to be just blood work and an information session (dos/don't's, light medical history), but because of a recent-ish prior loss the CNP was able to get me in for a dating ultrasound, but that wasn't standard at my practice.

First time, I called the office and let them know I had a BFP (I was about 8w) and they did a beta draw at my annual appt (which was already scheduled) then had me come for my first prenatal later that week. They scheduled me for a dating ultrasound around 10w.

Second time, I called to tell them about my BFP (I was about 4 w) and they scheduled me for several beta draws. They scheduled me for a dating U/S around 6.5w then I saw the OB for my first appt around 8

They brought me in for bloodwork that morning, but that may have been because I was leaving for my honeymoon the next day. After that, my first appointment was at I think 8 or 9 weeks, and they did an exam and dating ultrasound.

First BFP, they just booked me for an appointment at 8 weeks. I started spotting, so they took blood work before then, and at 8 weeks, they confirmed no heartbeat and we did a D&C.

Second BFP, they brought me in right away for blood work since they knew I had a prior loss, and lost that one that week.

Third BFP, brought me in right away for blood work and got me in at 6 weeks for an ultrasound. I had ultrasounds at least once/month after that...and that was my little guy.

Fourth BFP, brought me in for blood work right away given my history...brought me in for an ultrasound at 6 and 7 weeks and had my 2nd D&C shortly after since the pregnancy never progressed and they never found a heartbeat.

Scheduled a dating U/S for what they said was 8 weeks based on my LMP, but was really 8 weeks based on my O date (I was charting so I knew for sure I was 5 weeks). They had me do a blood test to check levels and once it was determined my levels were growing appropriately, they rescheduled me for 7 weeks to do another dating U/S. After that, I had appts every 4 weeks.

My next appointment is at 10 weeks with her nurse practitioner and that will be for blood and urine testing, a pap smear and a background gathering session.

I also saw an RE the first time for the first 10 weeks of my pregnancy even though we got pregnant without any fertility meds, but had struggled with treatments for 3 years. Then I was released and saw a midwife.

I got a positive test last week. I called my midwife right away cause I had no clue how far along I was (huge surprise for us) and she got me in for labs and an ultrasound right away. She got labs back and immediately put me on progesterone cause that was a little lower than she liked and I'll go back for more labs today. I had the ultrasound to confirm heartbeat and date and that everything else was going well. I don't plan to see my RE unless something where to drastically change and my midwife wanted me to.

For my first, I came in for "orientation" at like 5-6 weeks and then was scheduled for an appointment with the OB around 8 weeks.

After two losses, my OB was much better and when I called, I specified to the nurse that he had mentioned at my last appointment that he would order beta's and so they confirmed with the nurse and sent me for those and then scheduled an u/s for 5-6 weeks.

It was my first, so I called and asked for an appt to ask some questions. She didn't actually touch me or do any blood work. But I pretended not to know my dates so I'd get a dating US. So she sent me for that at 7 weeks. In the mean time I'd decided to go with a MW so I called them the same week I found out and they had me come in at 9 weeks for my first appointment. No one did blood work to confirm.

With my first, I had been seeing a pelvic pain specialist for treatment of my endometriosis, but she isn't an OB, so I knew I wanted to deliver with the MWs in the same practice. I called both when I got my BFP - the MWs scheduled me for an appointment at 7 weeks and my doctor ordered a series of betas and an early u/s (endo = high rate of ectopics, so she wanted to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be).

When I get my next BFP, I'll go through the same early u/s process, but will decline the betas. Waiting for results was too stressful.

When I called with my first pregnancy they asked if I had any bleeding and when I answered no they just scheduled me an appointment around 9 weeks. I asked if I needed to come in and have a blood test done and the person said they didn't really do that for people with no current issues/previous losses.

At the appointment I met my OB for the first time (I had previously seen a nurse practitioner) and the nurse asked DH and I questions about our history, etc. I did have blood drawn, but it wasn't to confirm the pregnancy. My OB did a bedside ultrasound to make baby was growing ok since it was too early to hear the heartbeat.

They booked me for an appt with the NP at 8wks, which is just when they take your information and tell you what to expect. Then they quickly book you an appt for a nt scan if you want it. If all goes well the first OB appt is at 10wks.

I needed IUI with an RE for my last pregnancy. My OB treated it the same as my first pregnancy, even though I had an u/s at 7wks while still under the care of the RE.

ETA: I also had a mc bw pregnancies that went to term. Still no difference in how ob treated my last pregnancy.

First one, I went in at 9.5 weeks and we heard the heartbeat. Second one, we went in at 10 weeks and found out there was no heartbeat. For this pregnancy, I will be going in at 8 weeks for an ultrasound and then at 9.5 weeks for a regular appointment. The standard for my OB's office is 8-12 weeks if you have no risk factors or losses.

This is my first pregnancy, so this is their "normal routine" at my dr's office: they booked my first appointment at 6 weeks. I had a urine test, lots (like 7 vials) of bloodwork (genetic tests etc; I don't think betas, or at least, I never heard what all they were bc everything was normal), u/s, and the dr talked to me for a long time about what appointments would look like throughout the pregnancy and dos/donts, etc.
