I know one family who had to stay an extra day because they didn't have a name picked out, and the hospital wouldn't let them leave until they did. I would give a daughter my maiden name as a middle. Maybe it's different if you kept your last name instead of taking your husband's though. So don't stress! I think they go home as "baby boy" and then she had to go to social security and file the paperwork for the real names and update it with her health insurance. You can do it yourself, it's just a pita.</p> <p>We didn't have a name until the day after LO was born and the nurses were definitely getting pushy!!
