@regberadaisy: wow! I'm so sorry that happened to you guys! I totally can see how the LC would say that 1.5oz is enough for your lo...They were the same way at my hospital when we went to our breastfeeding class....Basically made it seem like formula was wayyyy to heavy in the baby's stomach and they really only needed a teeny tiny amount of colostrum/bm. That rubbed me the wrong way as I was really looking forward to breastfeeding but was comfortable with formula feeding if bf'ing didn't work.

Scariest:
G- when he fell off the counter as an infant (back when he got baths in the kitchen sink)
P- probably realizing she was behind in social/cognitive milestones at 6 months (she's begun catching up but it was so stressful on me)

Hardest:
G- before DH came watching G act out & cry at night missing his bio dad wondering why he never saw him
P- The first 5 months it took to get my bf'ing diet down & her being VERY high needs.

By far it was leaving the hospital without my baby. He stayed in the NICU for a few weeks after I was disharcharged. Also, seeing him rip out his feeding tube and have to have to put back in multiple times was heart breaking, he was teeny tiny but managed to scream his head off!

@CottonCandy: she was hungry/over tired. The short version basically is I had/have supply issues and my milk had not come in yet. So at the hospital the LC had told me to use a SNS system and told me it was more than enough to feed her 1.5 ounces via the tube even though the head nurse thought she needed more. So it got to the point where she was refusing the boob, the SNS system. In desperation we tried a pacifier, pulled out a bottle of formula we had from free samples. NOTHING stopped the crying. We were so worried something else was wrong we rushed her to the hospital. We had to watch a dr do these test and exams on her. Finally a nurse came in and fed her a bottle .... and she took it and gulped down FOUR ounces then took another two when we got home. Sigh. I felt like the worst mom in the universe for literally starving my 4 day old newborn. And I will never forgive that LC for saying 1.5 oz was enough for my baby even though the head nurse thought otherwise.

Well, that wasn't really short!

I think my husband will agree that ours was bringing our 4 day old newborn into the ER at 3am in the morning. Because she had not stopped screaming/crying at the top of her lungs for 6 hours straight and refused to eat.

That is a moment I never wish to repeat, TYVM!

What has been your scariest parenting moment, thus far?
