We do cookie baking Christmas eve to make special cookies to leave out for santa.
We open one gift Christmas eve, which is a new pair of jammies and maybe a book or movie.
We read twas the night before Christmas all snuggled up on the couch with Christmas lights on and music on Christmas eve
And that's it...

@Charm54: This was our family tradition too! We've changed it up slightly that Mrs. Claus delivers the new PJs the Friday after Thanksgiving so we can wear them all Christmas season.

@LuLu Mom: we were always so excited for "Mrs Claus Eve" and to see what she had brought us. I love carrying on the tradition with my girls too!

If we move to a home with a fireplace I'd love to camp out by the fireplace and drink hot chocolate on Christmas Eve. We eventually had to go to sleep in our own beds for Santa to finally come.

Openning presents Christmas Eve. My mom is Swedish and my dad is Italian and Christmas Eve is the big holiday rather than Christmas Day. I love how magical it felt when I was little to stay up late and open presents all calm and cozy in PJs with the fire place on. I never liked the American tradition of everybody wake up and run to the tree and tear it all open. Luckily my DH doesn't care either way. :) So we will continue that tradition with our LOs.

Eta: we still do stockings in the morning.

My family used to pack a thermos of hot chocolate and drive around and look at Christmas lights, this is a tradition we do every year. And we will watch Miracle on 34th street on Christmas Eve, one of my favorite memories (and movies!) What do you plan on continuing from your/SO childhood?
