I'm in Southeastern VA and we have pretty seasonal weather (hot summer/cold winter/mild spring and fall). I would say most people around here would consider mid-to-low 30's cold. We don't get much snow though, since the winter temps usually hover around 34-35 degrees.

I'm in SoCal too and all the news will talk about lately is how cold it is! Frost advisory and nights down to 38 degrees is downright frigid! But I even think anything in the 60s is cold! Brrr!

We've been here since the end of June and I think the lowest temperature we've seen is around 68 degrees. It's crazy to see people wearing long sleeves and hoodies! They think it's cold right now!

@lolabee: Holy! Where do you live?

I live in Sweden anything above -15 C is cold. -25 C is miserable, but it doesn't happen often. Right now it's -4 C and the forecast for the week is even warmer: towards 1 C. So all the snow will melt and it'll look pretty ugly for awhile. There's no windchill.

-15 C = 5 F (cold)
-25 C = -13 F (depressingly cold)
-4 C = 25 F (mild winter)
1+ C = 34+ F (warm winter)

hahaha these temps sound fab to me!! -40 celsius is cold here. (although that doesn't happen often) Windchill makes a big difference. We're lucky though, we've been having a very mild winter, tonight it was only -15.

Less than about 8*C, last year we had a day when it snowed (none of it collected on the ground) and all my tough teenage students went absolutely mental with excitement. That never happens!

Anything between 10-20F I think is pretty cold. We get down to the -20's C with the wind chill on some bad days, but not for long and not very often. I'm wimpy for a Canadian, we have pretty mild weather here.

Depends on what the wind is like. It's incredibly windy here in the middle of Kansas so 25 with no wind isn't bad but 35 with wind can suck so bad. We base it mire off the windchill (what it feels like) than the actual temp.

I'd say anything -10 and colder is cold weather. Whether that be just temp or adjusted temp because of wind chill!

Celcius, not ferenheight (sp?)!

I spend a lot of time outside though, in all weather, others in my area might say a warmer temp, maybe 0, is cold?

40 is cold to me too, but average here in MI for winter is 28 I'd guess. Sometimes it gets down to the single digits. We get a lot of lake effect snow since I'm only 30 minutes from Lake Michigan.
