Maybe put him down for the nap a bit earlier - after 1 hour 45. Catch him before he gives the cues you are seeing and before he gets fussy.

I've left Xander in bed for a nap over an hour with him being awake! I figure if he's not fussing, then he's fine. Eventually he fell asleep!

@hilsy85: I don't leave him longer than an hour. I feel like we missed the nap window and I just don't like him laying there. If I stretch him after he's started fussing he doesn't stop. There isn't anything to make him happy, besides putting him in bed.

What happens if you leave him longer than an hour? Or stretch his awake time longer than 2 hours?

In the morning, usually two hours after he wakes up, lo starts his tired cues and gets fussy. I put him in bed, do the whole nap routine, and leave the room. This has worked for a least a month solid.

Now, he lays in bed for an hour, without crying, and doesn't sleep. I don't know why or how I'm supposed to help. If he were crying I would know how to soothe him, but he doesn't need soothing. He acts tired before he goes down, so I'm confused. I usually just go get him up after he has laid awake for that long, which leads to a cranky day for him.

What do you think?
