We took our 4 year old and 21 month old to Disneyland and they both loved it! My 4 year old loved the rides and my 21 month old loved meeting all the characters.

We just took DD at 3.5 and she had a blast! I kinda wish we had waited until she was 5 so she would remember it better, but my parents booked the trip so we just went along with it. It was crazy but very fun.

I think if you are talking a once in a childhood trip, I would say between 4-7.

My parents are vacation club members and we go a ton. So far we took DS at 1 (hard but a nice trip) and 2 (much easier and he really got into it). We are going again at 2.5 with my parents and I think he will be fantastic. He's super verbal now and can be off his schedule a little more without meltdowns and as a bonus he's still free!

We did a day at Epcot this past March when DS was just under 3.5. He had fun, but it was a little overwhelming, especially the characters. Both DH and I agreed that he was pretty much the minimum age. We plan to go again in a few years when DS is 6 and DD is 3.5.

We're going when dd is 4 (ds will be 11 mos) but this trip is bc she's so into disney right now. We plan to go again when ds is 3 or 4 so dd will be 6 or 7.

I went once during my childhood. I was 11 my brother was 9...Although it was awesome I think I was too old for it to be "magical". Hence, taking my kids at younger ages

4th bday was a really nice time but if I were going once I would aim for maybe 6 or 7? We got a room where we watched the fireworks show from it before bedtime and dd was in her princess dress dancing and so so happy and it was the cutest thing ever!!

Depends on expectations and your los I think. We went at 18 mos with zero expectations and it was actually awesome. Lo went on a bunch of rides and we all had a blast, of course she doesn't remember any of it lol. She napped in the ergo and stroller no problem, we nursed and took a little break then, it was great. We did a much bigger trip just before she was 3. Her naps sucked because she was too excited and overstimulated and there were more than a few tantrums. She had a great time and has awesome memories but dh and I were pretty stressed. We're planning another trip for when she's 5 so we're hoping that'll be great for everyone!

We haven't gone yet, as it will be a big expensive trip (I don't want to go until we can save enough to skip almost every line) but my plan is to go when the youngest child is done napping and ideally potty trained.

We live near Disneyland and have gone at 1.5, almost 3 and 4 (as well as taking a 5 week old and a 1 year old DD2) and 4 was the best, but if/when we plan a Disneyworld trip, I won't do it until the youngest is at least 5 for max enjoyment for everyone. But Disney world will be a once kinda thing. I went as a teen and still thought it was awesome!

I would think between age 5 and 8 or so. For me, the ideal would be when they are still young enough to appreciate the "magic" but you don't need to worry about diapers or potty training, naps, or super early bedtimes.

That said, we brought LO1 at age 2.5 and she had a blast. Since she was under 3, everything was free. She wasn't potty trained yet but it was easy to deal with diapers. We're returning this year and she will be almost 4 and I'm curious to see how she does. We'll have LO2 this time though (9 months) so it will be a harder trip all around but I think LO1 will enjoy it more than last time.

I plan to go multiple times. Took DD just shy of 3, and she still remembers and talks about it to this day (and asks when we're going back lol). We were going to go back this fall but then I got pregnant and am due 2 weeks past when we would have been there, so no go for the foreseeable future.

Under 3 is free at Disney, so we were able to do a lot while 'only' paying for two adults (she was free at buffets though I offered to pay for her, and free for any special experiences that you pay extra for). She's also tall for her age, so she was able to do a lot. I had so much fun dressing her up in princess clothes to do various character meets (though she was super shy), and we have some wonderful memories.

It definitely wasn't fun hauling around diapers and having to worry about changing rooms, but I like to hope it may have been easier than rushing out of line to find a bathroom for a newly potty trained kid.

We took our son when he was 3 and 4. He had a much better time at age 4. Now at age 6, he asked to go to Universal Studios instead of WDW, so I think there's a window before age 6 where the trip can be really magical.

My son enjoyed it at 18 months, but I have no expectations he will remember much. He recognized all the characters from Pooh and Clubhouse, and by the end of the week he was dying to run up and hug them! He was able to go on more rides than I expected, but was pretty stoic about them. If we were only taking him once I would've waited a few years, but I know we'll take him again down the road. The main benefit to going when we did is that kids under 2 are essentially free, so it was as cheap a trip as it would ever get.

We just took DD at just shy of 5 and it was a great age. She knew most of the characters but was still completely enthralled by the magic. She's tall for her age and so could go on every ride at magic kingdom. Downsides were that it was still a lot of walking for her and she was fighting for stroller time with her 1 yo brother, and although she doesn't usually nap she was exhausted by about 6 pm so we couldn't make it to fireworks. We plan to return when she is 8 and little bro is 4.

Age 2 was fun but its still a lot of work. Dealing with diapers, not wanting to always sit in the stroller, naps etc. And they dont remember it.

By age 4, my daughter really enjoyed herself, was very potty trained and could skip nap and totally remembers it. However, she was in between the need for a stroller (we brought one anyways). She also had very little expectations so she was happy to just keep going on rides in order we listed them.

If I was only going to go once , I would wait until they were 6 so they really got the whole experience.

But since we knew we would go a few times over their childhood I was happy to take them after they were potty trained and a bit easier to travel with. We took DD1 on her first trip at 2.5 and had a blast! We did easy days and didnt try to see everything. She had so much fun.

This last year at 3.5 was even better. She was super into the whole experience. I can't believe how much she remembers and she talks about her trips all the time. I was also surprised at 3.5 how much she could do. There was maybe only 3 or 4 rides in all of Disney World that she was too short for.

Our next trip will be when DD1 is 4.5 and dd2 is 2.5. It will be dd2's first trip and I can't wait for her reaction!
