I got in SO much trouble.</p> <p>I was 18 and supposed to work the 3-10pm shift, but my boyfriend had just come from 4 states over for a visit and was planning to go to a concert with my best friend. I really wanted to go, so I told my parents I got out of work to go out with them... only I couldn't actually find anyone to take my shift, so I told them that I thought I had chicken pox (my little sister had it at the time and I had never gotten it).</p> <p>I left to go to the concert, and an hour later my mom calls me fuming because the managers at work had the house number in my employee file and had called the house to speak with me and try to work with me missing my shift. So my mom knew I lied, and then my manager knew I lied. I ended up getting written up and it being put in my file. I told my mom I was staying at her house and she said the opposite. I took L to my job with me in the morning (I was a lifeguard). It was raining that morning. I called my mom and told her I made it to work safely. She told me that L's mom had called asking for L and that they had a nice discussion about us and where we were last night. And she found out that I had never stayed at L's house even though I used that excuse a lot...</p> <p>OMG the drive home was TORTURE. I got the silent treatment until my brother was kicked out of the family room. Then I was told I was grounded for a week (with no car privileges other than to work and immediately home) and no phone privileges during that time. L got grounded for a MONTH. A month! And this was August so it was the last month of summer!!! We had to sneak phone calls to each other.
