Summer for sure. It was 120ish here a couple weeks ago and all my DS wanted to do was go play outside.

Post-holiday winter. I am a holiday fanatic and Christmas in winter is still newish to me, so I totally lap it up. I shop year round and love it.

After New Years, when we are back in routine is when the worst weather hits here. It is brutal. On top of that, I teach, so I'm with students who have cabin fever.

I should add, that I also tend to sway more toward depression in the winter. Part of the reason why I tolerate the heat is because I feel my happiest with lots of sunshine. I'm constantly making sure all my rooms are filled with natural light. I need it!

@Mrs. Sunshine: um, I literally had days when it was 50 degrees this spring and I was like, do we even need jackets?

Normally I would say winter, but this year we were sick Non stop all spring. But still winter in New England. It's tough.

I live in Houston. I feel your pain and totally get grouchy when we get too hot. But i still hate winter. I can spend an hour or so outside with the girls now. Forget it, if it's below 50 . I seriously cannot handle the cold at all.

Winter for sure. Illness. Coldness. Snow. Summer is a somewhat close second though because people are annoying and stupid and loud outside.

Summer. Florida summers are horrible. Playgrounds and even the backyard are brutal after 30 minutes. The beach is nice while we're there, but a challenge to pack for and especially to pack up while pregnant and with a 3 year old and 18 month old. In 4-5 years it won't be so bad, we'll just hang at the pool most days like I did growing up, but until all three kids are capable swimmers, that's not a fun option (LO2 hates the pool with a passion right now). We will probably move back north by the time they're older anyway.

Late fall/all winter/early spring here is my jam. But I dread May-September.

@daniellemybelle: summer for me too! I live in Houston. Being from up north, I'm not used to summer as a time to be indoors. E is a little too young to enjoy museums (he's 8mo) so its been hard trying to find things to do

our weather is pretty mild so i don't think any of the seasons are too bad. we don't really get much snow, it rarely dips below 30 degrees, and the summers rarely get hotter than 90 (usualy 80 is about average). i guess the really rainy seasons are the hardest (fall and ocassionally spring) cause it's annoying to get soaking wet every time you run to the car. but other than that, our area is pretty temperate and enjoyable year-round. yay pnw!!

I'd say winter too, I'm from the NE. Today it's like 90+ in NY and it's pretty brutal but it's not everyday so I can deal with it. In the winter, with the brute cold and snow and all, I just can't deal!

@daniellemybelle: I feel like this summer is more brutal than last! I felt like last year was much more tolerable heat. But I also didn't have a car, so I was forced to walk anywhere. Now I'm spoiled, lol.

@daniellemybelle: each season brings is challenges. Through summer swim time is difficult for us. LO has long thick curly afro hair and the chlorine is just brutal on her hair. Washing detangling and rebraiding her hair is a long process. So i try to minimize how often we go to the pool but since we walk by it daily she begs to go.

Thinking about it late fall / winter is quite tough. All these festivities (halloween, thanksgiving, Christmas) and school closings make it feel like I have suddenly acquired a second job. All the festivities require some sort of attention on my part including costume shopping, candy buying, trick or treat planning, leaving early to go to the school dress up / parade, then the apple picking, pumpkin picking, pumpkin carving, thankgiving dinner planning, christmas tree hunting / decorating / trimming, Christmas gift + stocking stuffing shopping, school closing and holiday planning, if we are going somewhere or not.... Not to mention DS's birthday is January so even more planning right after Christmas. grrrrr.

One day when DS grows up, moves out, and I become an empty nester, I will just lay there from October to January and do absolutely NOTHING. lol

Summer. I react horribly to the sun - turn bright red instantly and burn even with timed and generous sunscreen applications. Poor DD seems to have gotten my skin, so the two of us really struggle to be out for any great period of time. Also, there are a lot more activities in our town in the winter so we can find a more ways to fill our days.

Winter (in New England). Illness, daycare closings, and general cold weather would be hard enough but I have a walking commute (and no real alternative means of transportation) so anytime it is extremely cold or there is snow, my commute gets so hard (plus I drop-off and pick-up LO from daycare with the stroller and it gets impossible sometimes in the snow).

Usually, winter, just because it's so cold and we get cabin fever. This year, it's summer because I am massively pregnant and in no mood to cook as soon as I get home, plus I hate going outside and getting sweaty with my little mini bun in the oven.

Winter, because of the school closings and the long weekends where it's just too cold/wet/windy to go outside for extended periods of time.

I hear a lot of moms say winter is tough with germs and cabin fever, but living in Texas, summer is brutal. Last summer, I was so happy to finally be a SAHM that I honestly would go to the park in 105 degree heat, no problem. And LO was a bit easier to manage.

This summer going anywhere is daunting. Keeping up with sunscreen and water and just the exhaustion for both of us is rough. We've been eating more fast food on the way home from activities because the last thing I want to do when we get home and we're all sweaty and tired is make lunch. I'm just over this heat!

Which season is hardest for you?
