We started a baby gymnastics class to help with T's motor skills. He LOVED it. Luckily though it was only an hour long because right at the end he was cranky and didn't want to participate anymore. So an hour is perfect. He's 11 months

I have spent over ten years teaching gymnastics to preschoolers and now have a three year old. My guy was over lil kickers after about 30 minutes. Most gymnastics classes are 45 minutes. Crossfit for preschoolers is 20 to 30 minutes max.

I think a lot of it is because of what parents deam bang for their buck. No one wants to pay $10 or more for 20 minutes. Even if 30 minutes is probably most appropriate for 3 year olds. It is also hard to fit everything in that people expect/want in 30 minutes.

Crossfit gets away with it because of its social structure.

It's not the class length that matters for her, it's whether she's interested. If she isn't, 45ish minutes tops. If she is, hours.

@autumnlove: Maybe 45 minutes or so, if they can't get up and walk around that much during the class!

:)

We do soccer on Thursday and I pick up LO 1 (3 yrs old) from preschool and take her to Lil Kickers class. The class is from 4:30-5:15 and she is usually tired and over it by 5:05 pm on the dot. :) I think 30 minutes is ideal for a week day but 45 minutes would be no problem on Sat....but I can't switch because that class is completely full.
