Doing a calm beach vacation would have been great. The midwife said I could fly as late as the airlines would allow or up to 36 weeks. </p> <p>With my second I would have been pretty uncomfortable by that point. Actually this sister had fertility issue with her first (4 MC, conceived through IUI) but her second was conceived naturally very quickly. I think traveling at 6-7 months as long as it's a low risk pregnancy is no big deal. And it's really hard to plan a vacation around a yet-to-be pregnancy because so many things could happen. You can't put your life on hold (or expect others to) when you start TTC. I know it's possible and doable to get pregnant on the month and time they would want to, but it just irks me. So I think she should be willing to plan the trip. </p> <p>Southwest is really flexible with refunds. I also did a cross country all day flight with multiple connections at 33 weeks pregnant. It was AWFUL. I should have worn compression stockings because the flights caused my legs to swell horribly, and I was shocked by the amount of people who never gave their seat up to me in a crowded airport or didn't even help get my luggage down from the overhead. I was comfortable and didn't have any complications. My OB was totally fine with my flying/traveling since medical care was easily accessible. Definitely harder on me at 28 weeks, but I developed pre-e 8 weeks later (with symptoms starting about 32 weeks), so I'm not the best example.
