@red_seattle: asthma is definitely on my radar. DH has suffered with it his whole life and I'm so scared she could get it one day

@maybebaby: ok. At least I'm not the only one. We are so ready for her to feel better!

It's hard to tell because when Xander started daycare at 12 weeks, he was basically constantly sick with one thing after another after another!

Anything with a cough usually lasts 3-5 weeks though!

I voted 1-2 weeks because the hot and heavy stuff lasts about a week. However, the aftermath of constant runny nose/sneezing/cough lasts up to a month. It doesn't seem to bother him though.

D has had a runny/stuffy nose and yucky cough for 3 or 4 weeks now. He just started rubbing his ear, though, so we're going to the doctor tonight.

I voted 1-2 weeks, but we've also had strings of illnesses where as soon as they seem to get better from one bug, they pick up another. We had at least 2 people in the house sick from end of November til mid February, and now LMW and I are getting congested again..! Bah.

6/7 weeks. This was from New Year's Eve until recently. He had the horrible lingering cough, and even if it didn't wake him it woke us!! I am so sorry you're dealing with this, it is sad and exhausting and feels like it will never end! Hang in there.

X had a horrible bug last May. It started with a fever/sluggishness on Mother's Day, faded away only to give way to a rash all over. Then he had runny nose/sore throat sort of thing going on, and then when that seemed to go away he was still coughing at night. He would wake up coughing at night for months after that. Not to the point of puking, like your LO-- but enough that we were concerned with his breathing. The hard part was that we'd take him in after particularly bad nights, but since it only happened at night (so they never saw how bad it was-- during the day he seemed ok), and since we weren't seeing our normal pediatrician, they just brushed it off. Finally, in late July/early August, we were able to get in to see his normal pediatrician about it, and she started him on an inhaler. Since we've started treating his asthma, that coughing cleared up, and he hasn't been sick nearly as often or nearly as bad.

@luckypenny: It started when E was 14.5 months. The worst of it was 3-4 weeks in...he ended up weaning because he was too congested to nurse and I wasn't pumping.

DD has had a serious cough for over a month. It wakes her all night, causes her to puke phlegm and really only occurs when she's sleeping. Needless to say, we are exhausted. After 5 weeks we finally started antibiotics but I don't think they're helping and maybe it's just a virus that won't ever go away! But I'm also hearing colds are lasting an average of 4-6 weeks these days anyway.
