@mrs. bird: Yup, I am in MA and I DO know about that, thanks!! Actually, they had a job posting at UB that looked really interesting so I was looking all around their website, but Hingham is too far from where I live to commute every day. NOT too far to get a fantastic deal on a stroller though :)

Before we had LO and used a stroller frequently, we couldn't justify spending the money on an UBV, B-Ready or other high end stroller. We ended up with the B-Agile because it was smaller, easy to fold, and under $200. We also were surprised with a hand-me-down UBV so I've had the pleasure of using both. Now I can honestly say that I 100% feel it's worth it to splurge on a good stroller. Our carseat is a Britax and it cannot be used with the UBV, and I hate this fact. I seriously think I would not use my B-Agile if it weren't for this very fact. The UBV handles SO much better and is more comfortable to use. We used it a ton when she was in the bassinnet and I know this will be our go-to stroller when she is in a normal seat. In hindsight, I would have purchased the B-Ready to work with my carseat and I would have been one happy momma right now.

I don't really have a max (although I am sure DH does!). I would love to have an UBV or an Orbit, but we live in the suburbs and will be driving alot, so spending that much on a stroller doesn't really make sense for us. If we lived in NYC or another walking city (and didn't have a car) I would be totally fine with spending $1,000+ on a stroller. We'll probably go with the Britax B-Ready. While still not cheap, it seems like the best fit for us.

We have a Baby Jogger City Select, which was $500 and we have a BOB. We looked at the Orbit and also the Uppa Baby Vista. I like the Orbit but I didn't think it would work for 2 babies (based on my age we plan on trying for a 2nd pretty soon) and I couldn't fold the Uppa Baby so we didn't purchase it. the Baby Jogger City Select was the easiest for me to fold and seemed to be perfect for 2 young children, so we selected it.

I think ours was $250, but it was a travel system and included the car seat. I agree that it's bulky and annoying.... but it was only for her infant times and now we have an umbrella stroller for the most part, which only cost like $20. Sometimes we use the other stroller if we're going somewhere that we'll be eating on the go and need the tray, but it's rare.

I voted for over six hundred only because we bought a triple stroller. Would never spend that on a single. Our graco single stroller was part if a package with our infant seat and a pack and play for 200 and its a great stroller. Still going strong after four years. I just don't see the need for those higher end strollers.

We have a BOB and love it. I “test drove” a bunch of strollers in every price range, including the uppavista, but the BOB was the easiest to drive, had the smoothest drive and was the easiest by far to drive, turn, rotate, etc. with one hand. It’s never awkward opening store doors and getting myself and the stroller in and out of places, and even though it’s a bulkier stroller, it is very easy to maneuver in tighter spaces.

I also wanted something that could handle cobblestone streets, snow, ice, mud, etc. and something I could jog with. The BOB tires seemed to be the most rugged, we’ll see how she drives on snow in a few months! With some after-market accessories (lol) it was around $500.

We found a bugaboo frog on CL for $200, but I don't think I would have been able to swallow the $1,000 price tag. We drive most places, so for us, it isn't as justifiable. But, we're excited to have one!!

My sister gifted us with our first stroller, which lasted over a year. Our needs changed and we recently bought a second stroller (Uppababy G-Luxe). $200 for an umbrella stroller was hard to swallow at first, but it is definitely worth it for us. It's comfortable for my LO. It's compact and lightweight for us and fits much better in our car. I never thought I would spend that much on an umbrella stroller.

I'm not pregnant yet but I've thought way too much about this already. I'm in the city, and like other people said, the stroller will pretty much be my car. It will have to go over cobblestone sidewalks (sound so pretty but are so bumpy!) and snow, ice, curbs, etc, so we will pay what it costs. I'm pretty much only considering the Uppababy Vista or Bugaboo, but will probably go with UB.
I'll probably get a hand me down Snap and Go anyway and can see myself getting an OK umbrella one down the road as well. The stroller is pretty much the only thing I feel like I need top of the line for. Everything else I'm not that picky.

I was willing to spend about $200 on the stroller.

I got the B-Ready through the Free Ride Event, so for $400 I got the stroller and car seat which I thought was a good deal. The Chicco travel system is about $300, so for an extra $100, I got a much nicer stroller with a lot of extra features that I love (plus won't have to get a double stroller later).

We are planning to get a Bob - in the past couple years I've actually started to enjoy running, and I don't want to fall too far off the wagon, so that is important to me. Plus, I've heard they are pretty good "off road" and we live in a rural area where there aren't always sidewalks.
It seems like a lot of money to me- but I'm hoping someone will get it for us, and we are pretty frugal in other areas.

We are getting the UBV not because I feel like laying out a whole boat load of cash on a name plate stroller, but because I never drive anywhere. We really need something that can handle snow (we're in Canada), cobblestone streets and sidewalks, and the high mileage that I walk during the day. I love that it will be a double when the time comes which will prevent me from buying two strollers. And because it comes with a bassinet it makes the infant car seat / snap and go obsolete for us.

I don't love the idea of paying a pile of money for a stroller. We just don't have the budget. That said, I'm considering investing in ONE that will accommodate two kids and so I can avoid having a bazillion strollers lying around. I'm going back and forth between the different convertible strollers but it'll come down to whatever I can find a great, used deal on.

@jholler25: A friend of mind has the UBV and ever since she showed it to me I've been obsessively scouring CL to find a deal on one... I totally understand what you mean (and never should have tried it out lol).

We spent $700 on our stroller (UB vista) and would have spent more if we felt that it was necessary to get the stroller we wanted. We don't have a car and walk pretty much everywhere, so having a really good, high quality stroller was really important to us. We looked at the bugaboo cam as well, which is like $900-1000, and would have gotten that if it hadn't been for a few cons that turned us to the UB vista. For something like a stroller, which we are going to use a ton, the price was not really a consideration for us.

I am an Uppa Baby Vista purchaser, and I agree that the price tag is ridiculous. However, the #1 complaint I heard from other moms who used a stroller a lot and got it in and out of the car a lot (which I will) is that they hated their lesser expensive stroller due to bulk and difficulty to maneuver in and out of the car, etc. An overwhelming amount of moms I know said they got so frustrated with their stroller, they ended up with the "mercedes strollers" like the UBV or the Bugaboo eventually, and the initial couple of hundred they spent on the hated stroller was just a waste in retrospect. So they all convinced me that splurging on a really nice stroller was worth it.

ETA: Plus once I test-drove the UBV - it was over. It drives like a Cadillac - lol. Even DH was excited pushing it around.

We have an UppaBaby Vista, the UB G-Luxe, and a BOB, so we're in that camp. We also live in the NYC area and use our strollers more than most non-city people. If I thought the Bugaboo at 1K was worth it, Id have spent it, but it wasnt a good fit for us. You have to look into lifestyle and what stroller fits into it. There are plenty of amazing strollers for under 200 that will do just fine.
