<p>I liked it, but we never actually got to the "shuffle" part. I like that it gave you things to work on from birth on at each stage to lay a good foundation for sleep. For example, in months two, it might give you several goals, like try to lay the baby down awake but drowsy at least one time a day, etc. We tried to follow the general goals the first few months, but we eventually just did straight CIO. I can't remember all the details of the sleep shuffle, but it something like sitting in chair by the crib until baby goes to sleep. Then the next night moving the chair farther away, etc. it does seem like a pretty gentle way of sleep training, especially if you start following it from birth, but I think there was a chapter or two about starting later.
