Essentially, she has a sore throat. According to her pediatrician, it's going around., He's seen a bunch of cases of it just today! Kids aren't eating, they're cranky, have a fever and just uncomfortable. So, nothing we can do except keep her comfortable, offer her water and milk and give her Tylenol. And keep offering food.

Poor boo!!

Ear infection or teething. Could be that the antibiotic she is on isn't working and she needs a different one; especially if she still has a fever.

I'm calling teeth or a virus. We've been dealing with the same symptoms for at least a week. LO doesn't drool when teething, but her diapers and general disposition point to it.

Maybe she has a little virus that just has to run its course...It could have been coupled with the ear infection, or the ear infection could have been viral and won't be cleared up with the antibiotic and just needs to clear on its own. OR molars...Could be so many things! But I do remember molars being hell for my lo!

@regberadaisy: no drool but she hardly ever drools!
@looch: all clear. Very regular.
@skibobrown: @mrs. wagon: not sure. She started the antibiotics 7 days ago!

I put a call into her nurse line. The ear infection from last week is the only reason I'm really kind of worried and waffling about a doc appt.

I would definitely say either teething or an infection! If she's on antibiotics and the fever is persisting, you may want to get her checked again... there should be a change in her fever within 24-48 hrs of starting the antibiotic. You might need a different medicine.

Are you sure the antibiotics are working? You might want to bring her to the doctors to see if the ear infection is actually going away.

Ear infection and teething are the first things coming to mind. Those or HFMD but that is really only coming to mind based on the other thread and some of the people in my FB newsfeed.

I think it does sound like teething!!!

Is she drooly? But then my M was never drooly most of the time before teeth broke through.

Help me, Dr Hellobee. ;-)

12 months old.
Three straight days of fussy behavior, hardly eating.
Pulling at her ear - but she's on antibiotics for an ear infection.
Today - won't eat, won't drink any milk (at daycare, she did nurse this morning). Fever of 100.8.
Sleeping fine.
Playing fine.

My husband laughs at me when I say, could it be her molars? Or other teeth? Other thoughts?
