If your little one is in daycare, you can expect the first year to be in and out of the doctor's office until your immunity catches up. We switched daycares, so we're getting all new germy stuff different from our previous ones. We've spent the last week sick with RSV and strep each and every one of us.

@justjules: I have had this type of stuff happen with both kids postpartum. With my first, the weirdest things were I got a mosquito bite that turned into a blood infection and travelled all over one side of my body, and a band of shingles on my back. With my second I developed a sun allergy where I would get a huge blister rash anywhere the sun touched for more than 10 or so minutes. Then I got kidney stones and developed a rare heart condition that has never happened since. So I empathize! Some people do not do postpartum well.

thanks for the concerns! I went to the doctor because it was just getting worse and worse. I was diagnosed with oral thrush AND a strand of chicken pox that can develop in the mouth under stress and when your immune system crashes. (so I essentially have chicken pox in my mouth  )

heres to the start of new motherhood and a crashed immune system! I swear after all this pain is over all I'm eating is kale and vitamins

@justjules: oh my gosh - you poor thing 😁 Both of my sisters caught oral herpes from their orthodontist. They had 10+ cold sores at a time! Have you seen a doctor?

My immune system was so horrible while I was BFing last year. I was sick every two weeks. I had strep throat 4 times and colds in between strep. I was on antibiotics 8 times last year 😳 More antibiotics than I've taken in my whole life!

Yikes you poor thing! It sounds like it might be an immune issue and is probably a good idea to see your doctor. I'm no medical professional but I do see a doctor cause I have some autoimmune issues. He mentioned to me that sometimes postpartum your immune system can go haywire. I hope you feel better soon!

I was sick a month ago and had weeks of canker sores. I think my body was stressed and fighting everything off. But 15 at once is a lot-maybe you're deficient in something and your body is going nuts? I dunno :-/ white vinegar always helps mine go away faster

Oh goodness, you poor thing!! That sounds awful!

To me, the canker sores are the thing that says that your immune system is in overdrive trying to fight something. I pretty much only get them when I'm sick or so stressed I'm making myself sick. I know PP can be really rough, with the lack of sleep, craziness with BFing (if you are?), etc, but something doesn't sound right here.

Do you have a medical professional that you can trust (PCP or GP or OB or someone?) to go in and talk to? It sounds like a good, hard look at your overall health is in order. Cause that's a lot in a row!!

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Alright....

DS is 3 months old.
The past 2 months I have been non-stop sick. Lingering cold, then tonsillitis, then a week where I got itchy hives all over my body every night, and NOW my mouth is COVERED in canker sores. Last count, there were 15+ in my mouth. so I mean covered.

I feel like my body is rebelling against me. I'm so frustrated. Anyone else's body do this?? Is it my immune system? hormones?
