My husband is like @mambolt's -- anything that needs to be done, I have to ask him to do it and, depending on the task, spell it out for him step-by-step. It's like he turns his brain off when he gets home from work and can no longer function without explicit directions. On the other hand, he basically will do whatever I ask him to do, so I guess in that way, it's not so bad sometimes!

Oh, don't get me started!

He doesn't fill out his end of the deal, and then gets annoyed when what he was expecting to happen doesn't happen.

Does that make sense?

Let me explain. for example, he got hired at a new company recently. Healthcare is one of the benefits. We're moving to China for 6 months - 1 year as part of the job. He is adamant that he wont be buying tickets to get to China without the healthcare being set up here. He has been whining about how this hasn't been done yet.

So, I found out yesterday that he STILL hadn't filled out and returned the healthcare information/application form the company sent him WEEKS ago to send back *ASAP*. I was SO mad.

Also, he's a bit of a hypochondriac, so he has some sort of illness ALL the time. However, he refuses to ever do anything about it. He wont take any medication or painkillers, and refuses to go to the doctor "because he's too sick" and then feels better the next day and still refuses to go "because I'm not sick anymore" even though he and I know full well that he's going to feel sick again, whether its the same thing or something completely different, in a matter of hours.

I did not mean for that to be that long! Ha! Felt good to get it off my chest though!

He rarely notices or thinks of anything that needs to be done on his own, I have to spell out "honey could you please empty the dishwasher/take the recycling out/make a vet appointment/etc." Once I ask he is pretty good about doing stuff, but it drives me crazy that he can't just figure out on his own what he could do.

@tequiero21: To be fair, part of it depends on how stinky his farts are. Maybe his dad's farts smelled like roses.

My SO is so darn LAZY! I seriously have to do everything, and I think that he is under the impression that our kids are my responsibility. He's turning into his father, which totally sucks.

Ah, it feels so good to get that off my chest - there isn't anyone I can talk to about it because everyone LOVES my DH!

@mrbee and @babylove - TELL ME ABOUT IT! i get so mad and i tell him he's totally showing me hate. and he's like, no, it's love. ALL husbands do it. i'm like, i don't know what kinda warped family you grew up with (cuz his dad and uncles did it) but NORMAL people don't do that. makes me so mad! and he gets all upset that i'm throwing dust at him when i fan at him with a blanket or something every time he farts or burps.

Oh wow, there are so many parallel's. While his forgetfulness is my main issue, I have similar gripes relating to the video games and cleaning. I feel horrible when all the little things get compounded and I spazz out on my SO.

If farting was our issue I think I'd become violent. That's so not right.

@tequiero21: Throwing farts and burping up kimchi is really gross. But the worst is locking the windows after a fart! I would seriously shatter the window and make him pay for it.

he has a good handful for me, i have a good handful for him. 1. he's gross! (always has to throw farts and burps at me - i hate that! especially when he burps after eating meat, beer and kimchi - THE worst combination). he farts in the car and locks the windows so i can't open the window. really gets me mad and he knows it! 2. he gripes at me about cleaning but he's the one making most of the mess! 3. he's such a picky eater - he complains about my cooking but when i cook for him, he doesn't like to eat it! those are my top 3 - in retaliation to his top 3, which i posted in that other post about SOs gripes. haha.

He has a very sarcastic, dry sense of humor and I'm really sensitive aka he hurts my feelings without meaning to. He's learned to tone it down when its directed towards me, but not always.

I can't really choose between the forgetfulness (I call him Old Boy very often since he's younger than me but so forgetful) and lateness.

Video gaming use was a gripe when we only had one TV, but we bought a special video gaming TV for Christmas.

He plays video games, doesn't read and he also doesn't like silence. That being said, he only plays video games AFTER we have had our "us" time for the day and usually asks if it is OK if he goes up to play. He is OK with me reading while he is watching TV or a movie, though. That used to upset him until he figured out I like to mulit-task. :)

@Modern Daisy: I do exactly what your DH does and it drives mine up the wall!!

I'm sure I give my DH plenty to gripe about, but for me it's that he is constantly putting things away where i can't find them. My DH can't stand clutter, which is usually a good thing, but if I forget and leave something out, he puts it away and I have no idea where to find it until he gets home from work and can help me locate it! It's extra frustrating when it's my cell phone charger! :)

Mine is his forgetfulness. I can't take it. And at times I become the biggest jerk in the world about it. The.biggest. But it affects so many aspects of our lives. Bills, baby, chores, etc. I will admit, I have to get better at losing my patience with this issue. It's just so annoying!
