Panties only. I believe they dump the poop but won't rinse or scrape (gag!).

@NovBaby1112: :-/ if you can push them on undies for a little bit longer i feel like the process will be so much faster! my daughter was in pullups at preschool for 3 months after we potty trained. she was absolutely trained at home, knew when she had to pee and poop and went consistently in the potty. but bc daycare wasn't really consistent with the underwear, she ended up regressing at school. luckily it didn't affect her potty training at home at all. she was able to stay dry the mornings before daycare, the moment we got home from daycare, and all weekend. so even if they make her wear pullups, she will get it eventually. but it will take longer than the cold turkey route.

Our daycare wanted pull-ups but our preschool asked for undies. I tend to agree that pull-ups prolong potty training.

Our daycare was fine with underwear. They realize poops can take longer to train.

If kids aren't fully potty-trained they have to wear pull-ups until they are fully trained. The teacher helps with potty training though. She plans to have all the kids who aren't trained in undies by the end of the year.

Ugh, I wish her daycare would go the no pull up route, just bc I feel like it is confusing to her to be in undies one day and pull ups the next. I don't care if they toss the undies, I'd rather them do that than wash them!

@kodybear: we tried her in undies for a few days at daycare and she had a huge poop accident so I think they want the pull ups just in case, but I'm so scared it's going to set her back training wise...

They dump the poop and rinse the panties out for me. If it's a really soft poop or something I told them to just toss the panties. But she only had poop accidents her first 3 days of wearing panties at school, and then never again. *Knock on wood*

They dump the poop out of the undies and bag them up with the pants. We were allowed to do pull-ups if we wanted to but they suggested going full-on undies so we did.

@Smurfette: Yep! They wash her clothes/panties any time they get dirty (the other day she spilled a cup of milk on herself and they washed everything).

they will throw away poop underwear if its bad. are you able to get her daycare to try out underwear for a few days to see how it goes? i feel like once you start doing pullups it will prolong the process as they get comfortable going potty in the pullup. we kept switching between the two in the beginning because of miscommunication with the daycare (they wanted pullups we wanted underwear, the teachers weren't helpful at trying to keep her dry, etc. ) and i think that flip flopping back and forth confused her more. so i feel like if you can just try underwear for a few days to see how it goes it might make the process faster.

we ended up having to do the pullup route at preschool ( underwear at home) but she is officially out of pullups as of this week with no accidents so far! so proud of her :-) so i think either way she'll get trained but the pullups route definitely slows it down..

I don't know if they have a policy but pullups are too much like diapers to me, and that wouldn't have worked for DS. We've never had a poop accident so I dont' know what they would do per se but they just told me to send in a change of clothes.

We don't do any pull-ups at daycare. I told them I wanted her in panties only and they were fine with it (and actually agreed that only panties was the way to go). Pull-ups are too much like diapers IMO.

ETA: They have a washer and dryer on site so when she has poop accidents they take care of all of that for me.

They are fine with her in panties. If the poop is really bad they just toss the panties. Otherwise they wrap up in gloves and I take home. They don't have a way to wash them out.

She had a poop accident yesterday and I got home and just tossed them. Dried poop, no thanks.

We are currently potty training and LO is pretty much pee trained, but poop is a different story. I am curious about what your daycare or preschool's policy is if they are pee trained but not yet poop trained. Her daycare (goes to 3x week) wants me to send her in pull ups until she is consistently going on the potty and her preschool (goes to 2x a week) wants me to send her in undies bc they do not believe pull ups help the situation and can just cause them to regress. So it's hard having 2 different policies :/
