I love to run. I found that for me, running + light weights is the only way for me to slim down and tone up.

Like a few PP have said, weight loss is MAJORLY dictated by what you are eating (at least that's how it has been for me). I've always been a mega work-out person, but only when I'm being very specific about my eating do I see any results.

You don't have to sacrifice it!! Every once in a while is okay, it's more if it's every day, etc. I was eating like a bagel for breakfast, a PB sandwich for lunch, and who knows what for dinner - all carbs and dairy with no protein or vegetables. I don't eat those grains much :) but i don't eat any bread really at all anymore. If you're *mostly* eating clean, don't worry about occasional treats!

@JoJoGirl: @Minnie_Girl: ARGHH... I was hoping that by working out more and at least watching what I eat, I could avoid sacrificing the "good stuff". For me that's white rice and the occasional sweet... I'm not big on grains, and have never eaten quinoa, wheatberries, or bulgar in my life! hahaha

Keep eating clean and working hard for the next couple of months and you should see some awesome results! Have you tried bodyrock.tv? It's a free home workout website that, for many people, was the extra boost they needed to get lean: http://www.bodyrock.tv/

@mrs. bird: Haha! I can really relate to that lately...

As Mrs. Bird, said, make sure you're eating the right 'kind' of calories, not just the right number.. protein, healthy fat, and healthy carbs (meaning fruits and vegetables, not necessarily grains..but if you eat grains, eat GRAINS and not 'whole grain bread' - quinoa, wheatberries, bulgar, etc). MFP should give you a macronutrient breakdown of your calories so you can make sure the proporitions are on track for fats/protein/carb breakdown! I was so shocked when I started looking at mine because my diet was like 80% carbs!

But also, don't give up :) It can take time to start seeing a difference so just hang in there!

@sweetchic: They are intense but that’s what I loved about them…they really forced me out of my comfort zone. And you can adjust it to where you’re at and then increase in intensity as you build up your endurance. I always came out of the classes completely sweat soaked and on the biggest workout high :)

You're doing great! Try not to expect much for the first 6-8 weeks. This is a big shock to your body & it might fight to hold onto fat. make sure you are upping your protein intake to fuel your new muscle.

Spoken like a lazy hypocrite :D DH was my personal trainer before we were together, so at one point, I did know what I'm talking about.

So I joined a gym exactly 2 weeks ago and have already gone 10 times! I'm on a total gym kick right now (let's see how long it lasts). I really want to lose 15 lbs, and I have been tracking what I eat via MyFitnessPal and staying within 1300 - 1400 calories.

Unfortunately, NOTHING IS HAPPENING. I know I should be patient, maybe I'm building muscle and it weighs more than fat, I know I know... but it bums me out that I'm working my ass off and watching what I eat with NO results. Here is a sample of my workout schedule for this past week:

Mon - 45 mins kickboxing (high intensity)
Tues - 30 mins running/walking on treadmill + 15 mins weights
Wed - 20 mins elliptical + 20 mins swimming
Thurs - 30 mins running/walking on treadmill + 15 mins weights
(I also like my gym's Sunday AM zumba class so I'll be hitting that up this weekend!)

Do you guys have any foolproof workout routines that really work for you, and where you see visible results relatively quickly?
