Wouldn't have changed a thing. We lived it up in the city, travelled across the world and are financially secure. If I slow things down with my career now, I also don't feel that I will have to take a significant step back which is great. It was less about age for us and more about having everything that we wanted accomplished done. We had goals that we wanted to meet before we would be ready and then we re-evaluated once we had met those goals. Some things are definitely harder now. I still have a little bit to go on my masters, we don't own a house. But I just love our little family, and we will reach our goals together. I don't think I'd change it! </p> <p>However, if I HAD to pick another age I think I'd say maybe 24/25. I wish I would have traveled more in college but had overprotective parents who worried about everything so it took getting a backbone to say sorry, i have my own money now and I'm going to take some trips. I'm currently 35 and pregnant with my first. In some ways, getting pregnant younger would've been better. Pregnancy probably would be easier physically, and there would be less of a time crunch to have #2. </p> <p>But in all other ways, there was just no way it was happening any earlier. I didn't start dating my husband until 3 years ago. I didn't get financially stable until 6 years ago. And by not financially stable, I mean my rent would bounce, my power would get shut off, and I couldn't afford to buy groceries. Up until our wedding a year ago I felt like a dog was the maximum amount of responsibility I was willing to take on. </p> <p>So I guess if I could've magically crunched my early 20s together and been ready and married to my husband by my late 20s, then starting around 29 or 30 would'v been good. It would have been nice to do a few more fun things before I had kids, had more alone time with Farmer Man, but I wasn't the person I am now without my kids. I'm not sure I would have had the confidence and the self-respect go out and do the things I kinda wish now that I would have done. But my first kid will graduate when I'm 38, I could be well on my way to an empty nest by the time I'm 45 and everybody knows you've got lots of life left after that, so yeah.
