If P is in her bed she sleeps on her tummy or side. If she's in bed with us she prefers her back or side.

charlie slept on his belly from 4.5 months until he was 2. then he started sleeping on his back.

olive has been sleeping on her tummy since 8 months and still sleeps on her tummy. i put her in her crib on her tummy, though I never did that with Charlie. it seems to help her not see me when I leave!

@mamajaja: She is 7.5 months old. What I do depends on her cry. Sometimes she will fall asleep if I leave her there long enough. Sometimes I have to go in and pick her up, then get her back to sleep. I used to be able to just flip her over, but doing that now just freaks her out even more.

DS started sleeping on his left side around 5 months. Sometimes he won't settle in his crib unless I nudge him on to that side. But was always happy on his back prior. Just like a switch flipped one day. But both kids roll all around during the day and never do at night, so I think they definitely have sleeping preferences.

She sleeps on her tummy mostly and sometimes her side. She also can get "stuck" when she flips to her back. Sometimes she will fall back to sleep easily, but other times I think she gets too disoriented to figure out what she's supposed to be doing.

I put her down on her back but she prefers sleeping on her stomach and side! I think this started around 5 months.

Even at 17 months I still put lo on her back. But she rolls over on her side and sucks her thumb right away. She'll flip over on her back and tummy throughout the night though.

We always place DD down on her back. She usually flips to her side after a while and then eventually to her tummy during the night.

After we swaddle weaned and sleep trained LO, I started putting LO on her tummy in the crib, since she would flip over immediately when I put her down on her back. And she seemed to like sleeping on her tummy better. But recently, LO has been flipping to her back in the middle of the night and would start crying as if she's stuck.

Last night, she woke up in the middle of the night, flipped to her back, and fell back asleep after a little bit of crying (which is unheard of!) I just put her down tonight on her tummy again, and she immediately flipped to her back and started crying. 15 min later she is asleep on her back! Could this be a change in her sleep preference?

Did your LO's sleep position of choice change over time?
