If DS is nursing (he co-sleeps half the night and can and does side-nurse in his sleep) I let him be and check my email on my phone until he pulls off, which usually only takes a few minutes, He stays asleep and I slip out of bed to pee/brush my teeth/start a pot of coffee. Either the alarm for DH goes off or DS wakes up. I go in and change him in the bed while DH pees/brushes his teeth/pours us each a cup of coffee and brings them to the bedroom. DS is always super happy in the morning, so we spend about 15 minutes playing with him and drinking coffee in bed. DH gets up and ready for work. If I have time I make us a quick breakfast. If not, I make him up something for lunch (usually leftovers). DS is usually entertaining himself on a blanket in the living room. DH leaves for work, E and I play for a bit longer then I nurse him again and he takes his first nap. Nurse LO while DH showers and gets dressed. Hand off LO, get dressed, out the door by 7:20. I change her diaper and bring her to my bed so I can nurse her. Say bye to dad. Bring her downstairs once she's done nursing. Set her up on the floor with toys while I make coffee and let the dogs out. Sit on the floor with her and check email/drink coffee while she plays. Feed her breakfast while I finish my coffee and have my own breakfast. If we have somewhere to go, I'll start washing up and getting ready after breakfast. Hit snooze at least once, but sometimes as many as three times. Go to bathroom, wash face. Get dressed. Make breakfast, which is usually tea + yogurt + toast. While the kettle is boiling I will wash/put away any dishes that weren't taken care of the night before. Eat breakfast while reading news/checking email/etc. Clean breakfast dishes. Makeup/hair/brush teeth. Pack bag for the day with notebooks, lunch, etc. Lunch is usually leftovers from the night before, so all I have to do is grab it from the fridge. I HB while she plays for about 30 or so minutes until she start to get sleepy DD goes down for her morning nap, I clean up, plan dinner then shower and start my day. (sometimes that last part becomes I sit on the couch and surf the internet for way to long until I realise she will be up in a half hour then I race around like an idiot!) I forgot my coffee on the kitchen counter, my lunch in the fridge, and the trash is still sitting by the back door :-( So he's what a normal morning of mine looks like: Wake up Go to the bathroom and Shower Get dressed Open up all the blinds Feed the cats soft food Do my hair Make eggs and toast for breakfast with some cut of fruit Wake up DH to eat breakfast Brush teeth & put on deoderant DH makes my coffee Grab lunch and coffee and run out the door! What's your routine?
