Shoes. Apparently wearing shoes is not acceptable and while he wants to play in the mulch playground area at our apartment, he won't do it with shoes, so he steps gingerly around and eventually just wants to be picked up.

Also, he is attached at the hip to DH and I am not acceptable. Sometimes he'll even cry if I offer to take him while DH does something. Nothing like feeling loved :bummed:

He'll be two in a couple of weeks and it's probably patience. As soon as he sees me take something from the fridge or freezer for him he is pissed that it's not instantly ready. Dude, it's a frozen chicken nugget. Let me nuke it for you! Or if he sees the carton of milk he's pissed that the cup of milk isn't in his hand already.

Also, not that it's HIS problem, but I'm super stressed about the prospect of potty training. He's showing so many signs and I'm like "I'm not ready! I'm not ready!"

@Rocker2014: my son is 23 months and does something similar some mornings. What oddly works is we have a big body pillow in his room and one day I got tired of waiting for him to get up, so I curled up on the floor on the pillow and as soon as he saw me do that he wanted to be pulled out of the crib. He laid down with the pillow for a few seconds but that was enough to get him going. I just sorta tickled and poked him on the ground and scooped him up while he giggled and that was that. I've done the same thing a few times now and he always wants to get out of the crib as soon as he sees me snuggle with the pillow on the floor.

Ugh, mornings. LO (22mos) has recently starting HATING getting out of her crib in the morning. No matter what I do, she screams and tantrums when she is taken out of her crib to start the day. It is not helping either of us have good starts to our day.

DS: he's mostly a dear right now, but he's having trouble sharing. If DD has some old toy, he wants that toy. If she opens a book, he wants that book. If she has mommy, he wants mommy :crying:

DD: um, where do I start? Lately, I can't get her to nap or sit on the potty. DH can, but with me it's like an invitation to party :bummed: she's also cutting like six teeth and doesn't sleep at night. And I can't get anything done around the house any more because she's stopped playing by herself. Instead she wants me to lead her around and around and around by both hands all evening. Thank goodness DH distracts her for a bit after dinner so I can eat too, and takes over her bedtime when she doesn't fall asleep for me.

@MoreCoffee: Weleda Baby Cream. I only just started using it on Monday but saw an improvement after 2 applications (1 midday after bath and one before bed). The patches stopped being red and skin felt a lot less rough. I'm giving it 2 weeks if I don't see continous improvement next up on the too try list is Metaderm Baby Eczema cream.

@ModernDayJibarita: What are you using? We're currently trying vanicream on the 5 month old with inconsistent results.

3.5 year old - Typical threenager. Defiance, ragey tantrums, whining. Cutting him slack because in the past month I've gone back to work, we've moved, and he's transitioning daycare classes.

5 month old - scaly weepy eczema on her joints (see above!). Has never STTN and does not nap consistently. But she's a super easy baby otherwise. :)

My job is demanding so I'm emotionally and physically tapped out.

Feeding. Though he's always been somewhat picky, the intensity of it fluctuates. I think it's getting pretty bad again. I'm trying to go full Ellyn Satter but sometimes it's hard. Ugh.

DS is 4.5 year old. It is not "pressing", but he just switched to a new school, and he doesn't have any friends. I just feel so bad for him but there is nothing I can do about it other than hopefully he'll have more friends as time passes...

Another challenge is I am trying to move bedtime from 8:30 to wishful-thinking 7:30... but it has always ended up to be 8:15 the past nights. And I really am trying!

Managing both kids on the days I'm alone with them. Most of all, helping my 3m old nap independently while I have my 25m old needing constant attention. Bedtime alone is the absolute worst. So maybe my biggest challenge is my own lack of patience and desire for control.

2.5 yo being defiant/not listening/challenging nap time and bed time but only at home, daycare naps are no problems and the tantrums..oh the tantrums. Again, never at daycare, can't believe that sweet angel would ever tantrum/throw herself onto the ground and kick/growl and scream. Don't ya wish they could get it all out at daycare and then be angels at home all the time?? LOL

DS has a viral sore throat that's worse than any cold I've experienced with either kid. He's not sleeping at all and screaming constantly. It's my first week of a new job and I'm struggling to make it through the day. DH is super stressed missing work and dealing with a screaming baby all day. I just look forward to DS feeling better so we can sleep.

DD is compulsively scratching the outsides of her butt cheeks when her diaper is off. A couple months ago it was the nape of her neck, then she stopped for a month or more and moved to the butt scratching. I don't know what to do. No detergent, diaper or soap changes. The localized areas make me lean away from food allergy. I don't know if it is a behavioral thing or what. I feel like such an incompetent mom when people spy her scratches :bummed: well baby visit on Thurs, hoping to get some ideas from the Dr

My job. It's not directly parenting, but indirectly. It's really stressful, a lot more hours than anticipated, and I just don't like it. I've looked for other jobs that would accommodate my family better, but have had no luck finding anything and now that I'm pregnant, I can't really switch right now so I'll have to look after I have the baby.
I don't think full time is for me, I'd rather do three days a week. Still get the fulfillment and satisfaction of working, but a lot more time with my kid(s). I miss them so much.

Right now, it's listening with my 3 1/2 year old. At almost 35 weeks pregnant, my patience is thin anyways and I struggle with having to repeat myself. It mostly occurs when we do bedtime and basically wipes me out for the night by the time we're done.
