At M's school party recently I was the only parent who didn't give their kid a sugar cookie with frosting (mainly because she doesn't have a lot of sugar and I knew she would be wired all night if I let her!) but they all looked at me like I was torturing her. She was 16 months at the time.... she doesn't know what cookies taste like and it's not like she missed it. LO is the only grandchild and grandparents gave me a hard time about BLW method and when I look away they would at least cut up the food I gave LO into smaller pieces. Haha. Bath and bed by a certain time. So this means we either have to decline a few parties or only one of us will go. Or we'll go and leave early. Paige doesn't do well with a change in routine, especially since it throws us off for a few days. Even a 30 min sleep deprivation! I get comments about how we're the adults and kids should be flexible, but that only worked when she was really young.
