People came until 10pm or so and were of all ages. I always loved it. But we had 100+ kids in a night some years so I always liked the variety of ages. I say there's no cutoff if you wear a costume and have a fun attitude. We put a lot of effort into our costumes and I think we were polite to everyone. </p> <p>At my home, we get about 60 kids each year... I think I've only seen a handful of older ones come by themselves with no effort to dress up. I actually don't mind too much unless they come late... I realized that there were better things I could be doing instead of going door to door.</p> <p>As for now, I only get about 1-2 trick or treaters through our neighborhood so I welcome them. I think last year I had one kid come by at like 9:45p. At first I was surprised that they were still out that late but when I opened the door it was an older kid was was probably 15 or 16 and who wore no costume. I went all through high school and we always had a blast... I don't recall ever getting any strange looks or comments about being too old. But as someone else said, we went a bit later (around 8:00), when most of the little kids were done, and only to houses with lights on.
