DH has all kinds of weird terms for it... Usually he says "Damn ducks" or "I think I just stepped on a barking spider". When we first got married, I told him that over X amount of farts a day indicates a medical problem, so now he usually says "Sorry about my medical problem." and laughs. lol.

But definitely not fart! I think it's crude.

Also, I can't remember where I heard it, but I heard a saying, "Children are like farts, the only ones you can stand are your own." So sometimes I'll tell him to "keep your kids to yourself", ha!

We made up a word- leem. It stemmed from a ridiculous conversation about the Spanish word for lime. I said that lemon is limon, and when DH asked what lime is, I replied with "Leem!". It turned into a whole big thing... and now a fart is a leem.

Is there ever really a polite way to talk about gas?

Growing up my parents always said "pass gas". We weren't allowed to use the word "fart" because they said it was crude. I always wondered why we had to talk about it at all!

DH and I usually talk around it. For example, he farts and I suggest, "can you please spray some Febreeze?" When it comes to our baby I imagine we will just talk about whether or not she is gassy.
