I always knew I wanted to be in the Military. Never expected to only be able to do 6 yrs. Now I work for the Gov. so its a good "second" seeing as I could no longer serve. I just didn't have it in me anymore. I have friends who are professional dancers and my little sister is a dancer (apparently i inspired her to go into dance which was such a sweet thing to hear and she is amazing!). Now I am far removed from the art world -I work at a state college. Though I love working in higher ed I would like to dive into the non-profit sector. Unfortunately when I grew up I had to come to the realization that I could never afford law school and went to college to become a paralegal.</p> <p>So really I ended up in the same area of industry that I had intended, just in a different role- could've been worse! Now that I'm in a similar field, there's no way that I would want to work in one because it's an extremely competitive field with limited available positions. Same with libraries and librarians. Growing up, I wanted to be several different things-- actress, model, etc which obviously was unrealistic for my shy, 5 foot tall self.
