We do dinner, bath, brush teeth, stories, songs and then put him in bed for goodnight.

Not to be critical of anyone, but shouldn't you brush teeth after the milk? I've heard milk residue can quickly lead to cavities.

Just thought I would bump this. Just not sure if we are doing a good bedtime. We do jammies and teeth but then we sit on the couch while she drinks some milk. We try to read books but shes more interested in watching tv.

It's sounds like a lovely routine. I've been thinking a lot about the 'spoiling' question lately. But I wouldn't change that precious loving time up.

We say night-night to the house, sometimes read a few books, then cuddle and talk about the day's events in bed.

@Sammyfab: Yes she always holds it by herself, usually she uses a straw cup but for some reason we stuck with a sippy at bed time. I think it's just something about the bedtime routine that she likes us to do it for her.

I think that is fine! They are only little once and if she doesn't expect you to hold it during the day, do it!

If she's otherwise independent with the sippy I don't think the extra cuddles is a bad thing!

My LO is almost a year and he takes a bottle at bedtime. Most of the time he holds it himself while on the change table or lying on our bed while we get his jammies on. Sometimes he just gets lazy and wants us to hold it for him.

We give LO a bath, put her pj's on, brush her hair, and then we give her a sippy of milk. We've gotten into the routine of holding her on our laps on the glider while giving her the milk and she doesn't even hold onto the sippy, we pretty much feed it to her like it's a bottle. LO is 19 months old. And then we brush her teeth, say night night, love you, and put her in her crib.

Should we make her hold onto her own sippy? Is she too old for that now? It's so relaxing for all of us (DH and I switch out bed time and do every other night and we both love the cuddle time) but we don't want to be spoiling her.
