The first month we were pretty casual about it and DTD every other day for about 2wks. The next month we used OPKs and DTD twice and it worked!

I think I fall somewhere between some and balls - although this weird cycle has made me feel squirrel! I don't chart temps but have done OPKs, maca powder & acupuncture. I wish I could be one of those casual people but I just can't.

I wouldn't call it a "style." After NTNP, then using OPKs, then acupuncture, then charting, all with no success, my "style" is BALLS TO THE WALL! Let's do this!

I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and paid attention to my CM but wasn't totally disciplined about charting. I used an app but it only took us a few weeks. Had it taken longer, I probably would've bee more disciplined about charting.

I thought I was going to be with the flow, but when AF didn't show up for almost 90 days, I became a more involved OPK. I was already charting during those 90 days so I know I didn't O until CD 70 something. My now normal cycles are about 40-45 days... so... I'm not patient enough to go with the flow. After 6 months and just 2 chances, I want to make the best of every chance I get.

I'm not actually sure where i standon this poll, but i initially was NTNP, then moved to OPK's Which i realised were a waste of money because i had the other markers for O, so i stopped the opk's. We BD for the fun of it ever so often. so seriously tho, i can't secifically say i have a style.

Originally I thought I would be a "go with the flow" kind of girl. However, once we started TTC I wanted to be pregnant right away. I charted, did OPKs, pounced hubby as soon as he got home from work during my fertile days, used pre-seed, took vitamin B6 to help with a short luteal phase and basically did anything but "go with the flow." I ended up pregnant twice within 4 months (first was a mc) so I guess taking the bull
By the horns worked for me.

I chose somewhat involved since I chart, but I charted before TTC as my form of contraception so when we decided to TTC it was only a matter of BDing on fertile days instead of infertile days.

I didn't vote since I have been in all 3 categories at one point or another. When we first started TTC it was all fun and no planning. After a few months I started doing OPKs. After a few more months I went to the doctor. At this point, 14 months of TTC later, I have tried a bunch of stuff and would be in the balls to the wall category. I had my first IUI at 9 months in and now we are looking at different clinics for IVF. I've even been researching acupuncture even though I still don't know if I totally buy into that.

At first we just sort of went with the flow, but after 3 months I started charting (BBT, CM and CP) and using OPKs. 6 months in I started taking...Mucinex?...and guzzling water like it was my job to increase CM, and 9 months in I started using Preseed.

I voted balls to the wall because it only took us 3 months yet I used OPKs sometimes twice a day, checked CM, took BBT daily, charted with Fertility Friend AND an app on my phone, stuck my bum in the air after BDing, ate pumpkin seeds and pineapple, drank extra water to increase CM and in the last month even took up exercise! If it had taken longer, I would have tried even more stuff...

I'm pretty much just go with the flow, but I am aware of my cycles and do notice CM and other signs that I may be ovulating soon. I don't make a concerted effort to BD more frequently during that time, but my libido seems to take care of that myself as there is definitely a spike in the frequency with which I want to do it mid-cycle! That being said, if we tried for several months and it wasn't working out, I would probably go more hard core with OPKs and whatever else.

I realized I never answered my own question!

At first I was planning to just kind of go with the flow for a while, and not start charting unless it took us a few months. But now that we're very close to pulling the goalie, I've been getting antsy waiting around and have recently started charting. I think this next cycle I'm going to try out some cheapie OPKs, just to get practice using them (and it will be nice to double confirm I'm actually O'ing). And I've been taking FertilAid for a few months now, but mostly that was to help regulate my cycle after almost a decade on depo provera.

We'll see what else I end up doing before too long. I've learned so much on this site, like using Pre-Seed, the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor, etc, that I have a feeling I'll be trying a lot, just to give us the best chance I can. At least there's lots for me to research, as I'm getting impatient to officially start TTC!

Funny poll! I started out off the bat being "somewhat involved"-- charting BBT and making sure to time BD with it. I couldn't handle not knowing when to expect my period, basically!

I didn't vote since I've run the gamut at this point - 4.5 years. In the beginning I was very easy going. Then, I became militant. Now, we're doing IVF so a lab is taking care of the details.

It seems like I've met three types of TTCers: people who just go with the flow (NTNP or just BD for the fun of it), people who try everything (OPKs, charting, acupuncture, etc) and those who are somewhere in between, maybe only doing charting or a couple of proactive things. Obviously there's no wrong way to go about TTC, I just think it is so interesting how we all have different TTC styles, all with the same goal in mind, BABIES!

Where do you, or did you fall when trying to TTC? And did you find yourself trying more things as time went on if you didn't get pregnant right away?
