My daughter was very similar. But yes, we also had tantrums and even sleep problems at that time. Molars were coming in. She's still that way now although the tantrums have sort of intensified. She's not loving the canines! I've heard that just after the first birthday is a challenging time, not so much 18-24 months. But I think everyone says something different because all children are different. We have our ups and downs but I love being a toddler mama.

My child was starting to get really fun at that age, with the increased independence and speech. She's never started throwing big tantrums, so not all do.

My son was great at 15 months, but now at 17 months, it is becoming more difficult. He whines and throws tantrums more and more in the last few weeks. Still overall a happy, pretty laid back boy (although very, very energetic), but man he gets upset quick now at the littlest things!

i'm loving this phase right now! we are almost 16 months and i've told so many people that this (12-15 mos) is the golden age! she is getting more defiant and whines more, but the number of new things she picks up every day is so amazing and such a joy to see. i am loving motherhood right now, and i'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. i've heard that 18-24 months is terrible, and one of my friends recommended not waiting too long to TTC for another because once we get into that phase, it'll make us question wanting another one!

DD turns 16 months in a few days and I'm already starting to see her change a bit for the worse. 15 months has been relatively calm. She was more clingy and whiny at the beginning but has mellowed out. But it seems as if that is ramping up a bit now!

I usually keep my mouth shut but my LO was so super easy and fun from 12 months on...so eager to please, well behaved and easy going and fun. She's 2 years 3 months now and she's still a super easy toddler (relative to what I hear)...but I know the emotional 3s are coming if we somehow manage to escape the terrible 2s

Enjoy 15 months, because 16 months has been sooo tough for us. She woke up and changed from my baby who always agreed wth us, to tantrums and "NO." :)

For us it's a mix of the best age so far, and the worst, haha. She has such a huge personality and it is so fun seeing her interact and play and learn each day. I swear she learns a new word every day that she loves repeating. She loves helping me do "chores" like laundry and the dishes, and seems to know exactly what I am saying when I talk to her. On the other hand, the tantrums and dramatic meltdowns have been the worst to date, and hearing "no" is the worst thing in the world to her. So that has been very tough for us.

SO much fun, but we've def crossed over to the defiant/whiny phase! I think it's just a preview of the years to come!!

He's ALLLL over the place, climbing everything, getting into everything, he's obsessed with pushing big, heavy things, and anything STICKS. big/small/etc. He's obsessed with playing with the dog dishes (food/water) and giving them treats like every minute. He's figured out how to open the kitchen cabinet, reach in, and grab two treats out of the bowl (with the childproof lock on it). DOY.

Cognitively, he's like a lil man already. He follows commands (when he's not defiant/whiny! LOL), understands what we say to him and to one another. He's slow on the verbal front, but def ahead in understanding both English/Korean language.

His attitude is def growing by the minute, but so is his independence. We're def a (as long as you're not hurting yourself) do what you want family and so it's been easier to cook/do laundry/etc. while he plays by himself.

When he looks up at me from the crib and says "nigh nigh" and blows me a kiss?! I DIE EVERY NIGHT.

If you see what I just posted about having a tough time with my LO....you'll see that 16 months has been SO HARD so far. 15 months was AWESOME, for the most part--he was fun, and funny, and picking up new things every day. The last week or so has been pretty awful with tantruming, whining, etc. I hope your LO just skips over that stuff!

M is really sweet and fun right now too and has very few tantrums. The only real issue we have is that she thinks "no" is funny. That's not a big deal when it's just something messy like dumping out the dog's bowl. It IS a big deal when she refuses to learn that climbing on the couch when mama isn't looking could result in serious injury!!! The other day I was washing dishes and looked up and she had somehow climbed high enough up the couch to have one leg thrown over the back of it. I firmly told her "No M, you can't climb on the couch, it's very dangerous and you could be hurt" and she squealed with delight.

Just curious!! LO turns 15 months tomorrow and we are having SO MUCH FUN with him. I almost feel like it's the eye of the storm. He's picking up new words often, will walk with his hand held, and is starting to clearly understand way more of what we say and ask. His impish side is out in full force and I feel like my heart is going to burst multiple times a day when he peeks out from under a curtain or initiates being chased/chasing me.

Are wild tantrums just on the other side? (obviously all kids are different).

OK sorry this is turning into a sap-fest. I'm just curious what your LO is/was like at 15 months! We mostly play with kidlets that are closer to 20 months and so my LO is always 'tagging along' so to speak.
