With my 3rd, I had most things. Rebought the rock n play and it was best thing ever.

Don’t forget postpartum things for you! Perineal spray, water squirt bottle (same brand as nose Frieda), witch hazel pads, stool softners, fiber powder you mix with water. My 3rd caused 3rd degree tear and took forever to recover😬

@buttermilk: I was going to mention a heating pad! I didn't nurse without one for the first two weeks, because it was the best thing for the cramps. I even had my husband go home and get it for me while I was in the hospital.

@MamaBear87: Yes, to the Keekaroo Peanut! It was one of my few splurges for LO, and it was worth every penny! My daughter will be three in a few weeks, I have NEVER had to wash a changing pad cover, and the Peanut looks as good as new.

Do you have a stash of pads/adult diapers/whatever will be comfortable for you post-partum?

Are you planning to nurse? Will you want brewers' yeast, mothers' milk tea, or any supplements that may not be easy to find locally?

A sling like a k'tan - for me, that was the easiest way to snuggle and tote around a tiny newborn while remaining hands free to do things with my older girls.

If you supplement with formula then order some of the single use nipples for the newborn ready to use formula they give at the hospital. They always give you more bottles than nipples and they are impossible to find anywhere

6 weeks pp over here, and amen to plenty of nursing bras if you are nursing... I wash mine constantly. Since it’s cold here I’m ending up getting more nursing tanks so I’m not exposed when pulling a shirt up. I’d also recommend a button down tunic!

I’m 2.5 weeks postpartum with LO2 over here.

A super comfortable nursing bra and robe. I’m basically topless all the time lol.

Boppy has come in endlessly handy.

White noise machine, I bought with my first and now we are all obsessed and have one in each bedroom!

I just started using the haakaa pump and LOVE IT.

Electric tea kettle, Ive been making so much tea.

And an XL heating pad!! Omg I bought one as soon as I got home from the hospital. My back hurt from pushing and now hurts from nursing and carrying an infant 24-7. It’s been amazin.

great suggestions above! We ended up getting a second video camera for our monitor b/c he naps in our room but sleeps upstairs in his. Great for travel too.

I also got an oxo travel drying rack and scrub brush that I still use all the time!

What about a sling or baby carrier?
Do you have a tummy-time mirror? Sassy makes one that is super clear, which we now use to practice speech

You have a great list already, but one other thing I loved having was a boppy pillow. Really nice to have for the newborn days if you're nursing. It's also handy later for tummy time, support while learning to sit, and so many other things. Also I second some sort of swaddling sack. We loved the Halo sleep sacks!

Buy a keekaroo peanut changing mat instead of whatever you have. It's completely wipe able and the best thing ever. My husband didn't want to buy one because they're kind of expensive but he made us buy a second because it makes poop explosions so much easier

Are you planning on breastfeeding? Nipple pads, comfy nursing bra, nipple cream. We also used swaddle blankets and neither of my kids liked sleeping flat, so our rock n play was a lifesaver.

I'm using my completion discount from my registry and want to make sure I have everything covered. I know I can use it twice so this time I want to start with things I will need right away. What did you use the first month after baby was born?

On my list so far are: changing pad covers (extras), baby shampoo/lotion, lanolin cream, nosefrida, diaper bag.

I have a swing, bouncer, crib, bassinet, pnp, changing table, baby carrier, carseat, clothes, diapers....
