Voracious nurser plus shallow latch equaled bloody nips by day 2. On the flip side, he has been a great sleeper and very adaptable from the beginning. Better after 6 weeks when she started nursing, but still pretty fussy up to about three months. Then it was like a switch flipped and she was a happy baby. DD2: happy and chill from day 1! And he was always a good sleeper. (She nursed 20+ times per day for the first three months or so). She slept anywhere, usually in whatever room we happened to be in, and fell asleep the second we put her in the co-sleeper at night (or after night feedings) so we didn't have to think about her sleep at all. She NEVER cried. I had no idea that her little fussing wasn't really crying until she was 3 months old and had her first actual crying fit. I was shocked to my core when it happened. Now we're totally accustomed to crying around here. She didnt know when to eat, sleep, play, etc. She slept in 30 mins increments, and snacked. Some might say she's a little difficult in that she does NOT like being put down, but I love holding/wearing her, so it doesn't bother me. Actually, she also probably doesn't sleep well by some standards, since she doesn't sleep in a crib, but we'd always planned to cosleep, and she does good stretches cuddled against me. My only complaint is that she still doesn't nurse well/long, but we're working on it. Cried all the time. Nothing pleased her. DS: Screamed whenever he was not nursing but he could always be quieted by nursing. So, he was a constant nurser. She hated being held - she wouldn't even take a bottle in my arms, I had to sit her in a bouncy chair and feed her while facing her. Ds2 was a sleepier nb due to jaundice. They're both just really laid back, love to nurse/eat/play!
