If you want a baby step and don't want to go full DSLR, look into the Sony NEX series (namely the NEX 6). It's a few years old) and an old Nikon D50 DSLR I picked up secondhand. DH just managed to kill his waterproof point-and-shoot by not checking the seals before he took in in the ocean on vacation (grrr) so he wants to replace it...plus the iphone and iPad cameras. I take a ton of pics because the iPhone is convenient, and was thinking about getting a better camera on a black Friday deal. </p>
