When we travel I put the Maxi Cosi in the middle of the 4Runner and one adults sits on one side and the giant dog is on the other. It's made for cars that have a smaller legroom space in the back and are one of the longest lasting RF and FF seats on the market based on height and weight. Only the Diono lasts longer height wise. A friend is a car seat tech and she recommended it. We LOVE! It probably helped having such a big heavy base, its impossible with the convertible carseat. DH went on the lexus forum and everybody had the same issues no matter what brand the carseat was. Any baby seat whether it is an infant seat or a rear facing convertible has to go behind the passenger side because I have long legs and need my seat back all the way.
