We took a 6 week birth class suggested by our midwife. It was 2 or 3 hours a sunday afternoon with 2 other couples. We learned a lot, but I didn't use many of the techniques when actually in labor. We also took a free infant care and a free breastfeeding class at our hospital. I loved the breastfeeding class and learned SO much. I don't regret any of them, and DH learned a lot in them all, too and he was very well prepared to be a wonderful labor partner and helped with breastfeeding, too.

3 part birth class and breastfeeding. I think the childbirth class was most helpful for DH- I knew most of it ! BUT the nurse who taught it ended up being my labor and delivery nurse so I felt like I kind of knew her because the class was 3 sessions long ! She was awesome !

For me the hospital tour was the best part so we knew where we were going and felt really prepared

We are going to our first one tonight on emotional/physical changes and fetal development. The other ones we signed up for are breastfeeding, exercises, and labor and delivery.

Breastfeeding and infant/child CPR. Both were worth it!

At my birth center we took a few classes. I didn't go to childbirth classes (because I'm a doula and it's all information I've already learned), but DH took "Daddy Boot Camp" with information about labor and infant care.
I took CPR/First Aid certification classes too.

We were going to take breastfeeding 101 and cloth diapering classes, but we couldn't fit them into our schedule. Luckily I think I've learned enough about those from books and hellobee to get by.

I took 3 or 4 classes at the local hospital and actually found them not useful. At the time, I thought they were useful (pre LO) but looking back, I didn't really remember anything that I learned when it came time to apply the stuff. Whenever I ran into problems during the newborn stage, I just looked it up in my Baby 411 book or googled the internet.

If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have gone so crazy on classes esp since they weren't all free!

I'm subscribing because I'm interested in this too. Right now I know I want to take birthing (most likely at my hospital) and breastfeeding, plus some kind of infant car, I think. I supposed I should take a CPR/first aid one too?

Birthing, breastfeeding, infant care, infant CPR... Signed up for a pet class but we didn't make it. I thought they were all helpful, especially for DH!

I took every class they offered. Literally, every single one. We did the birthing class, breastfeeding, baby care, a class on baby gear, infant cpr, and a class on the happiest baby technique. After baby was born I went back and took an infant massage class

I am a) a big nerd and b) get nervous about new things. Information makes me feel better. Even if I didn't retain half the information, it was useful for me to feel like I had at least heard it before. I also took notes (see point a above) and still refer them now with baby number two.

We took an all day birthing class and a breastfeeding class. A lot of the stuff in the breastfeeding class I already knew from my reading/research and places like WB. Our birthing class was so condensed that they spent really no time on birthing techniques and most of the time on getting to know the other couples in the room. It was a HUGE disappointment and next time I think I would like to take a Bradley class although I think it will be difficult to convince DH after our previous experience.

We've attended a two part birth class (which also included some newborn care and postpartum care). I'm also going to a breastfeeding class.

What did you take as far as prenatal classes go? Was there anything you found really helpful?
