I had a Aug 3 baby, and she wore a diaper, scratch mitts and maybe a t-shirt most of the time. We don't have AC in a second floor apartment though, so it was like 30C in our house, and didn't even seem to cool down at night. She sometimes wore a light cotton footed sleeper at night, but often was just in her diaper under her swaddle blanket.

She was swaddled pretty constantly, but she wore footed sleepers pretty much all the time. We were in the a/c most of the time, and if we went out, she was fine in a sleeper.

We did a lot of swaddling but for the most part she was covered (arms and legs) full time.

DS2 was born at the end of July. We did a combination of short sleeve onesies with swaddling in a light blanket, rompers for daytime, and footed pjs for nights and when it got cooler after a few months.

My DD was a July baby. Our home is pretty air conditioned, so at newborn stage we were 90% in sleep n plays. When we outgrew newborn clothes at 3 weeks old, we stuck with pants plus onesie in either long or short sleeve when home, and short sleeve onesie plus pants when out and about (with A+A blanket over her car seat if in air conditioning).

Mine wore a diaper+bib and nothing else, 95% of the time we were home in the summer :)

What kind of clothes should I be buying for my little guy who is due in July? Should I be buying footed one-pieces, long-sleeved onesies, short-sleeved onesies...or something else? I'm guessing it probably doesn't matter that much since we'll be inside most of the time in an air-conditioned house, but I was just curious.
