I jogged through my whole first pregnancy. (I wore a support band to keep my belly from moving too much)

This time, I'm finally getting back into it now that the nausea is subsiding, and I'm only doing 30 min workouts. I do the elliptical or a brisk walk for 15 min and then I do small weight circuit for the next 15 min (ie: squats, overhead press, bicep curls, overhead tricep extensions... 15-20 reps, repeat 2-3 times)

After trying (and wasting money on) a bunch of different DVDs, I found this one and really liked it. She has a different workout for each trimester, and most importantly I didn't find her annoying. The workouts are not super strenuous but you feel good afterwards.

At first I generally kept up with my pre-pregnancy routine (when I wasn't feeling too sick). My runs got slower over time, and I started doing more strength training through boot camp...with the instructor occasionally giving me mods as necessary. Right now, at 23 weeks, I'm on modified rest (no exercise) while my OB monitors my cervix. I plan to go back to my normal routine once I'm cleared (though I hate the disruption since I feel like it's going to be harder and harder to keep up my routine).

I took a spin class while I was pregnant and loved it! It was challenging but low impact. I also love weight training and jogging/walking. I think this combination kept me in fairly decent shape. My doctor even commented on my lack of belly fat that they had to cut through during my c section. I definetly took it as a compliment and was flattered!

I did a ton of walking while pregnant.

@mrsmate: the tightness in your belly might actually not have been b/c you don't exercise...it might be b/c you're dehydrated! Make sure you drink lots...especially if you're hitting the gym or walking a good distance!

All I did was walk during the weekends. I got really tired after work during the week so I would put my leg up and rest up instead.

On my weekend walks, I would walk 4 miles every Saturday morning, just a nice leisurely pace.

Before pregnancy, no exercise other than my preschool students keeping me on my toes.

I belong to the Y too- mostly I go to wear out my little guy :) I do a little while on the treadmill, elliptical, or reclined bike. It just depends how I'm feeling that day, some days is 10 minutes, more often is 20 minutes. Then I go sit down for another 10-20 minutes and read a book so he has some time to play and I get quiet time.

I've been looking at trying their fitness classes in the pool since I'm not a huge fan of actually swimming, they have shallow and deep water classes at our Y. Also remember that most have Smart Start and Jump Start that can give you a workout plan or ideas.

I continued my pre-pregnancy routine and made adjustments--30 minutes of cardio on elliptical or walking on treadmill, plus strength training after. I really enjoyed zumba classes as they were less high-impact than kickboxing and were a fun way to burn calories. I never did yoga.

I no longer belong to the gym but am getting sick of my current dvds. I found a few zumba videos on you tube so you could try those (some are under 30 minutes) and see what you think.

I don't like yoga either but I did Pilates and I enjoy that so much more. My doctor highly recommended Pilates too. I also did lots of walking.

I have been doing my baby bootcamp classes. It is a mixture of cardio and strength training, and they are great because they give modify options for pregnant moms! I attempted a run today (I'm 23 weeks 1 day with my third) and I went slowly and only did 2 miles and I am regretting it! I never worked out with my other pregnancies, but I figured I was safe to run since right before I got pregnant I had just finished my fourth half marathon and I've been doing my bootcamp classes. I. was. wrong. My abs are killing me, and of course, early tomorrow I'm flying by myself with my 2 LOs. I can't afford to be sore!!!

my regime changed throughout. in the beginning i kept up my normal exercise of using a cardio machine for 20-30 mins. that got harder as time went on and i had to keep lowering the intensity level. throughout most of my third trimest, my exercise consisting of moderate walks with DH. and i did do prental yoga somewhat regularly, more so in the third trimester.

It may sound weird, but I enjoyed strength training the most. I would warm up with the elliptical (running felt SO weird once I really started to get a belly) and then go through a circuit that used a mixture of free weights and plyometric moves.

ETA: I had to modify A LOT but as long as I was sweating, I felt so good afterwards.

I tried the whole walking thing...it just made me tired and increased the swelling in my already huge feet

What kind of exercise do you like to do when you're pregnant? I'm 24wks and do not have an exercise regimen, but I'd like one. Yesterday I walked 10 minutes to a friend's house in the neighborhood, and my belly felt so tight and heavy and uncomfortable. I feel like it's not normal to feel like that after only 10 minutes! I belong to a Y with childcare so I really have no excuse. Also, since this is my 2nd LO I feel like I'll need to be in better shape than w/just DD!

I don't like yoga, and while I've heard many people recommend swimming, I'm not sure about it. I went swimming at a lake Labor Day weekend, and it was so awkward. Should I stick with it? What does everyone else do?
