It has worked out really well...basically you pay out of pocket until the deductible is met (in my case $3000) and then you have 100% paid for thereafter. We have fantastic coverage..no referrals needed (for say, chiropractor or other specialists) only a co-pay. Delivery and pre-natal care is all covered with exception of $250 co-pay at delivery. Not sure about all the nitty-gritty details, but I love them!</p> <p>My husband pays through his company. Everything from the start of pregnancy through labor, delivery, NICU, and release from the hospital was just under $1000. It's actually much better than we initially thought it would be. We are with BCBS and opted to use my insurance for both of us- this is the first time we have ever done this. In the past, my husband's coverage was usually better than mine (even though more expensive) and we were under his plan. We are happy with our coverage so far. Since I work for a major health system, I have the system-specific plan. If we go to a physician and/or hospital within the health system, the copays are much lower. I had HMO the first half of my pregnancy which was good. Big difference in my care having a PPO now though. I was on a group plan at my work until we got married, they were both HMO, but his plan is much, MUCH better! Plus DH's work is great with sick leaves and such to boot. And the best news; They help with adoptions!!
