oxford/united ppo. i'm not even sure the company since they've been through several mergers/acquisitions.

i've never had an hmo so i can't compare, but for my hypochondriac self, i like ppo's.

I have BCBS high deductible plan. It has worked out really well...basically you pay out of pocket until the deductible is met (in my case $3000) and then you have 100% paid for thereafter. It is the plan to be on if you are planning on incurring major medical expenses!

I thank god I live in Canada! But we also have insurance that we pay for (few hundred a month) that gives us low-cost or free dental, eye, and prescription drugs.

I'm not sure the difference between PPO and HMO, lol.

But we have BCBS of MA, "Blue Care Elect," whatever that means. We have fantastic coverage..no referrals needed (for say, chiropractor or other specialists) only a co-pay. Delivery and pre-natal care is all covered with exception of $250 co-pay at delivery. Not sure about all the nitty-gritty details, but I love them!

My husband pays through his company. I think his company pays for most of it..I'm not sure how it works.

United Healthcare high deductible plan (no co-pays, only a high deductible ($4,000 indiv, $8,000 family) and then co-insurance. It's a group plan and quite frankly it is not good.

Cigna PPO through my husband's county job- we really liked it for maternity coverage. Everything from the start of pregnancy through labor, delivery, NICU, and release from the hospital was just under $1000. Not bad for 9 months worth of care to me.

We were looking at reducing our costs with the HMO, but we wouldn't be covered by our pediatrician, who we really like, so we stuck with the higher cost plan.

I work for a state university so have state benefits. It's actually much better than we initially thought it would be. We are with BCBS and opted to use my insurance for both of us- this is the first time we have ever done this. In the past, my husband's coverage was usually better than mine (even though more expensive) and we were under his plan. We are happy with our coverage so far. Still have a lot to learn about our L&D benefits!

I have a BCBS PPO. Since I work for a major health system, I have the system-specific plan. If we go to a physician and/or hospital within the health system, the copays are much lower. My OB isn't within the system, so neither will my delivery be, but I'm hoping we can find a pediatrician in the system.

Group HMO with Humana through my work; it is awesome ($10 to have a baby regardless of how complicated a pregnancy/delivery it is as long as you are in-network). DH has the option to get insurance through his company but a family plan through mine is only about $50 more than an individual plan would be through his.

I have a group PPO through work. I had HMO the first half of my pregnancy which was good. Big difference in my care having a PPO now though. Before I would only have 2 ultrasounds the entire pregnancy covered, now I get one every Dr appt. total I will be paying $500 more having a PPO though but I think it's worth it.

I have an EPO. It's like PPO except I have to try to use in network dr. We have a lot of medical expenses so it's cheaper than having a PPO. It's a group insurance through Anthem BCBS and I'm happy with it. My company's plan is pretty awesome.

We have BCBS, it's an HMO blue deductible/ hospital choice cost sharing, group plan. It's the only option DH & I have right now. Not thrilled at all with it! It's a MA health plan, so maybe compared to ins in other states it's decent, but it sucks compared to every other plan I've had. It meets the state minimum coverage requirements to a T! Emphasis on MINIMUM!

we had a REALLY crappy individual ppo with anthem, with no maternity coverage, but hubs got a new job last month and we got a major upgrade to his company's group ppo. we had to select the higher deductible, but their maternity coverage is awesome, so it's a huge blessing!

eta: his company uses aetna. i've always had anthem, so i don't know too much about aetna, but it seems to be really good coverage.

We have a group policy through DH's work. I was on a group plan at my work until we got married, they were both HMO, but his plan is much, MUCH better! Plus DH's work is great with sick leaves and such to boot. And the best news; They help with adoptions!! Which is great for us in the future!
