@Adira: I remember when my son did this too. It made me feel horrible. But now he gets excited when I pick him up. He's a total daddy's boy though. My new little guy will have to be a mama's boy by default!

My 22 month old will tell me to "go" which is her version of "go away." That and a strong daddy preference particularly with the bumps and falls.

LO doesn't talk enough to say mean things yet, but for a sweet little angel, she has an incredible b**** face she can make when she's displeased. I feel like I'm looking into the future of her at 12 years old making that face at me. DH gets scared lol.

@autumnlove: Everything you listed is what my LO says. It's a lot of "No, Mommy." I'm only good when he can't get what he wants from Daddy or is redirected to me. We're working on this phase which I hate.

@autumnlove: I usually say, "You don't have to like me, but you still have to do X, Y, Z...."

Or, "I know you're mad because I won't give you X, Y, Z... BUT..." - sometimes I explain to her why I won't give in to her request.

I don't really get phased by these things because I know she doesn't mean it and is saying them out of emotion. Toddlers, indeed!

sometimes when I want to take him for a walk in the carrier, he sees me strapping it around my waist and walk towards him - then he runs as fast and as far away as possible from me. And if I get close, he throws himself on the floor. I think it is hilarious though.
