I like to mix it up and soy milk is tasty. I like to drink skim but DH won't touch it so we compromise on 1% for us (I should probably give in and just drink 2% but its taken me years to get DH to move from whole milk to 1%, I don't want to go backwards!) He is lactose intolerant and also has a soy sensitivity. We keep organic whole cow's milk in our house since it has a longer shelf life. I tried to introduce cow's milk around that time, and he refused to drink it. He didn't like the taste. I tried almond and soy, and the only thing he would drink a couple sips of was the soy. The pediatrician isn't concerned as long as he gets some dairy through cheese or yogurt. I drink soy, because I have mild lactose intolerance. DH doesn't drink milk at all. DS typically drinks the whole milk, we cook and bake with the whole milk, DH and I drink the 2%, and we use the almond milk for smoothies and protein shakes. Jury is still out on DD. Will be interesting to see what we transition her to after breastmilk. She didn't handle soy formula well at all.
