@Ree723: Hi Junebug friend and baby birthday twin. Ugh. I wish I had advice for you. My son had his 4 mo shots yesterday (Thurs) and was cranky the rest of the day. His sleep isn't great to begin with, but last night was even worse than usual. It seemed like he was in pain anytime I touched a leg - one shot in each. I did give him one dose of Tylenol at night. No idea if that prevented a fever or helped him feel better. I also dread his 6 mo shots. I hope she's feeling better! (And you, too!)

She didn't react to any shots, didn't even cry at her 6 month vaccine. I would make sure and give her tylenol next time if you know that she is sensitive to vaccines.

Aaaw, glad she's feeling better. I've asked about spacing vaccinations out before when I felt like it was too much in one appointment and our son's ped was okay with it. maybe it's something you can ask about for her 6 month ones. I believe it's the same minus the hep b, I think. I have also in the past given Tylenol right befor shots as well.

My LO had a fever from the 2 month shots - he was pretty miserable for a good 48 hours after the appointment. He also spit up several times that night. We ended up doing Tylenol and it helped him sleep for a few hours at a time during the night at least. His doctor only wanted us to give Tylenol if his fever reached 100.5.

He had his 4 month shots earlier this week and luckily he was fine with them - slightly warm but definitely no fever like last time.

@Ree723: That's weird. Our hospital TOLD us to give her some before and after vaccinations. My ped even gave us a prescription for it. :/

Thanks ladies! I was prepared for E to have a low grade fever but the 103.3 is what really caught me off guard, and then the vomiting on top of that sent me into the full on panic spiral!

@zippylef: thanks for the recommendation, I will try that next time! Funny enough, when we called the 24 hr health line, the nurses scolded us a bit for giving Tylenol as apparently the children's hospital here does not recommend medication to lower fevers are vaccinations; they want the babies to fight it on their own. Umm, when my baby is burning up with fever, I think I will be doing whatever I can to lower it!

Sometimes LO gets a fever but nothing major. our doctor always tells us to watch out for a fever, crankiness and soreness in that leg

olive spiked a fever after her 2 month vaccines and really cried for the first time after them. she was a really mellow newborn.

her 4 month vaccines were ok though.

she actually got her 1 year vaccines today and is taking a long nap since she skipped her morning nap. i'll let you know how she's doing!

C has had her 2 and 4 months shots. Both times, there was minimal reaction. I do give her Tylenol before and another dose as soon as I can to help with fever.

Her 2 month shots, she basically slept for 24 hours after, hardly even waking up to eat.

Her 4 month ones, she was cranky and seemed to have a bit of soreness in her legs, but no fever or drastic reactions.

:( I'm sorry your little one is miserable. Maybe try the regular doses of Tylenol or Ibuprofen (Infant Advil works SO much better for us) next time?

LO had her four month vaccinations yesterday (Friday) morning and wow has it been tough this time! She had Rotavirus, polio, and the 5-in-1 DTap, HiB, HepB vaccines, the same ones she had at six weeks. At her six week shots, she ran a low grade fever (100.4), and was very tired for two days, but other than that she was fine.

After yesterday's shots, she was fine all day, happy, cooing, laughing etc, with no fever, until about 8 hrs after the shots. I put her down for a nap and noticed she kept making little moaning noises in her sleep. I didn't think too much of it (hello terrible mother) until I woke her from her nap and realised she was quite warm - she had a temp of 103.3! I panicked of course and DH and I tried to get some Tylenol in her but she projectile vomited everywhere several times. She also looked like she was trying to cry but couldn't really get out more than a whimper.

We called the doctor and they sent one out to check on her, but by the time he got here, her fever was down to 100.1 and she was perfectly happy and fine. It's now 4:30 am and she just woke with a piercing cry (very unusual) and is still not right although she doesn't have a fever.

Ugh, I know they're a wonderful thing but I just wish immunizations weren't so rough on our LOs! I'm dreading the 6 month shots, that's for sure!

If you actually got this far in reading, thanks! How did your LO react to vaccinations? Any tips or tricks to make it easier for them?
