Anything plush kind of impedes playing with cars and ride on toys and blocks, you know? It doesn't have a high pile so we can run cars on it and build things and is more.comfortable to sit on than a flat weave rug. I know the chevron look is done but it comes in a bunch of colors and I don't really mind it. It was much softer and cozier and hid dirt amazingly (even in a light beige). It lasted about 2 years before I thought it had gotten too icky (which is why under $200 is a key factor when buying a rug for me). But she's a pain and refuses to use the numerous scratching posts we have in the house. Don't want anything too plush/shaggy, as LOs will be building train tracks, magnatiles etc on top, but an indoor outdoor/dhurrie rug might not feel cozy or comfortable either. </p>
