We just put extra pillows along the open side and she only ever fell out twice, and one of those times I'm pretty sure she was trying to climb out. But a queen size means she is further from the edge than in a twin. Then we worked our way up to a captain's bed by moving the mat onto a mattress, then a mattress and a box spring, then the bed. He fell out twice so we borrowed a railing from a friend. We transitioned DD2 at 16 months recently and she went into a twin bed that's pretty high off the ground. I put a small round long pillow under the sheet to keep her from rolling off the open end. I wanted something with rails so we don't have to deal with her falling out, but everything I've seen doesn't have rails. </p> <p>How old was your LO when you transitioned them to a toddler bed, and where did you get it/what does it look like? </p>
