We bought black out shades from IKEA and used an old sheer curtain panel (maybe from IKEA but I don't remember) and cut it to fit inside the windows and added ribbon trim to the sides and bottoms. Our roof is slanted and window placement is weird so regular curtains on a rod wouldn't work. The curtain stays in the window on a small tension rod and the black out blind is behind it so you don't even see it when it's raised.

We have pottery barn, but they dont block enough light during the day for naps so I have this very ugly old comforter hanging over her pretty curtains.

@WinterBee: that's what we have in our bedroom. Pretty curtains from C&B with blackout fabric seen to the back, it's not the cheapest/easiest route but I love them.

My friend just uses her regular curtains/ on sale curtains and sews the blackout material to the curtain.
Or you can buy fabric to match the nursery and sew the blackout into that. But it's more work.

We have curtains, but they're not blackout per se - they're just heavier velvet ones from ikea.

We have these horrible brown blackout curtains over white faux wood blinds. They probably came from the dollar store and are hideous, but they do the job.

We have blackout curtains from Pottery Barn Kids! They come in lots of different colors and work really well! We use them over the existing wooden blinds that are on DD's window.

I have very basic cream blackout curtains in my toddlers room and faux wood blinds underneath. The curtains were from nobetterdeal and I got a killer deal on them.
DD2 has faux wood blind with regular curtains. It's still pretty light in her room at bedtime but it doesn't seem to affect her so I probably won't put blackouts in her room.

We just have a basic blackout curtain from target. I think it is this one:
http://www.target.com/p/eclipse-light-blocking-braxton-thermaback-curtain-panel/-/A-11145685#prodSlot=_1_2

It does make a difference!

I'm looking for blackout window coverings for my toddler's room and having trouble finding something I like. Does anyone have pics for inspiration? I'm open to curtains or roman style blinds. It's a bonus if I can buy them online.
